Hello Son, (continue from Call 193) (Thursday, April 14)
4. Oprah
4. Oprah
The dance show soon ended. Mom found herself shutting down the computer and flopping down to re-play the inciDAN in her head, over and over again. She was overwhelmed by the BELIEVE moment ... can You blame her? :D
The next show was Oprah Winfrey, which came on at 1 pm.
Mom watched Oprah interviewing Dr William Petit, whose wife and two daughters were tortured and murdered in their home, which was later burnt down by 2 psychopath-convicts who were out on parole at the time in question.
Mom recalls at one point of the interview, Dr William said that he was angry with God for a while. Oprah commented that people have said, that it is okay to be angry with God, God can take it.
Grimness set in. You must have seen that.
Mom listened to Dr W asking a question, what do you call a parent who has lost a child? If you lose your parents, you're an orphan, he rightly pointed out. If you lose your spouse, you're a widow or widower, he explained further. However, if you lose your child, what does that make you? What do you call yourself when you lose your child?
Oprah replied that, it is so devastating for a parent to lose a child that there is no word for it.
Yeah ... there is just no word for it.
Dr W ended the interview by sharing that there would probably never be a closure for him. He said, it was like having a jagged hole in your heart and your soul. Over time, this jagged edge will smooth out a bit but you'll always have the hole, he'd finished quietly ...
Yes, the hole and the ache will always be there, but You learn how to manage and cope better with it as time goes by. There will never be a closure, and that's okay. Deep inside, Mom knows she's not looking for a closure anyway. You're alive and well in heaven, why on earth would she want a closure? The bond between mother and child can never be severed and will continue to live on.
God intended it as such. You could ask God some time ...
This reminds Mom of a sharing she had read in the internet some months back. It was written by a mother whose very young daughter is in heaven. Mom had felt the rawness of the mother's grief and sorrow when she read the blog. How surprised Mom was to find out later at the end of the paragraph that the daughter has been with God for the past 28 years.
No closure ...
And that's okay ...
It is so much easier to move on with You than without You. Besides, as long as You are safe with Jesus, Mom knows You're happy and very much alive. Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross for us. Because of His death, we can no longer die ... we exist instead in a different dimension in God's Kingdom.
Heaven rocks, Mom!!!
She's pretty sure that's what You are telling her every day.
As the famous poem goes, You have just slipped away into the next room ...
Yup, You haven't gone anywhere ...
You're just in the next room ...
5. Death is nothing at all.
extracted from the internet ...
I suppose all of us hover between two ways of regarding death, which appear to be in hopeless contradiction with each other. First there is the familiar and instinctive recoil from it as embodying the supreme and irrevocable disaster...
But, then, there is another aspect altogether which death can wear for us. It is that which first comes to us, perhaps, as we look down upon the quiet face, so cold and white, of one who has been very near and dear to us. There it lies in possession of its own secret. It knows it all. So we seem to feel. And what the face says in its sweet silence to us as a last message from one whom we loved is:
"Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!"
So the face speaks. Surely while we speak, there is a smile flitting over it; a smile as of gentle fun at the trick played us by seeming death....
6. Camelot
So anyway, right after Oprah ended, there was a brief preview of Camelot, the new series.
Frown ...

Mom immediately thought of MERLIN and how You used to yell when it was on television:
Mommm, your MERLIN is starting ...
Mommm, MERLIN - last season ...
Mommm, MERLIN tonight - 8 o'clock ...
Then on a quieter note ...
Mom, why do You like to watch MERLIN?
Nobody watches MERLIN except You.
Nobody watches MERLIN except You.
What a coinciDANS huh, that Oprah ended with Camelot's preview. That was a sure way of making your presence felt, Son ... By the way, just so You know, Mom was following the MERLIN series because that boy in the show reminds your mother of You ...
He had a secret.
Like You.
7. American Idol Top 8

When you're weary, feeling small ...
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all ...
I'm on your side ... Oh when times get rough ...

I'm on your side ... Oh when times get rough ...
I'm counting on that, Son ... <3
