Call 216 : DINOSAUR LAND

Hello Son,                                                                      (continue from Call 215)

Wednesday, May 11

6. McDonald's

We left the Petting Zoo at about 12:30 pm ...

and arrived in McDonald's (Sunway) some 30 minutes later.

Boy, did we take over the place with all the children. :D The Happy Meals were all ready in place on the tables, and the kids just rushed to the tables. For the next half and hour, it was just chomp chomp chomp and ketchup ketchup ketchup ... :D

While Mom was enjoying her burger and high-caloried fries, she couldn't help recalling some of our McDonald's moments. It was a favorite place of yours and Justine's, especially when You both were much younger. Several birthday parties were held there.

[Oh Wow ... just heard the line ...  "only at McDonald's"
on television right after writing that last line above ...
What a powerful coinciDANS ... :D]

You grew up with McDonald's

No doubt about that. Like most kids. :D Mom remembers the first thing You said after You woke up from your very first surgery way back when You were 7 years old, when Mom asked what You wanted to eat, You had said,

"McDonald's ..." :D

It is always wonderful just to watch You eat ...

We always miss You at meal times, Son ...

7. Dinosaurs

After lunch, we went to the Science Center to see the dinosaurs.

Even the dinosaur - land brings a heartwarming zap to your mother.

Land Before Time was one of your earlier DVDs as a child. That came to her mind instantly.

You used to have a collection of little dinosaur figurines that You would used to line them up in a line while playing on the carpet in the living room. Also, Dad bought You a big set of LEGO Dinosaurs for your birthday too, while in preschool. Remember?

Nostalgia ...

So yes, Daniel ... at the Dinosaur Land ...

Mom sure felt You near ...

8. Bird Cage

It turned out that some of the 3 year old Bambi children were afraid to go into the exhibition hall. The dinosaur sounds were pretty eerie and intimidating. Quite frightening for a young child.

There was a special little corner for smaller children to engage in coloring activities of dinosaur masks while waiting for the bigger kids to explore inside the exhibition hall ...

Mom waited outside the hall with two of the teachers who were attending to the Bambi kids at the special corner. No, she didn't go in. Her camera had run out of battery. Besides, she didn't think she would be able to take any photos in the exhibition hall anyway.

At the special corner, Mom stopped by the reception desk.

There were two staffs apparently preparing some sort of science craft using a straw. She was standing there for quite a while, watching them cutting and stapling, before she happened to look down on the table and noticed copies of a picture that made her gasped ...

Oh --- My --- Gosh ...

A bird cage???

Call 134 : Bird Cage

Zzzzzaaaa -- pppp !!!!

Oh My Goodness ...

What are the chances of seeing a bird cage in a dinosaur museum? You knew this bird cage picture would so zap your mother. Mom felt your presence instantly. :D She took out her camera to snap a photo. Her camera refused to click. Battery was flat.

Darn it. :(

She needed the eviDANS.

It's always easier to tell Dad and Justine about her ZAP - inciDANS when she has the eviDANS in her hands, especially in a situation where she has no witness ...

Mom had no choice but to politely ask the staffs whether she could have one of the crafts. They looked at each other, before the girl on the left handed one to her with a smile. That was your doing, Mom knows.

Give one to my Mom ... :D

How precious is this, she had thought happily, as she carefully kept the straw craft in her sling bag.

The photo above is taken at home, by the way.

9. Sticker

We were on the way back to school at 3:30 pm.

In the bus, the guide was summarizing which places the children had visited and what they had seen and learned during the field trip today. Looking out of the window, Mom smiled to herself, as she listened to questions and answers being thrown back and forth.

Clearly, the kids were still quite full of energy, judging from the interaction that was going on between the guide and them, whereas your mother felt like closing her eyes and sneak 40 winks ...  but did not manage to do so ...

Shortly after, the guide announced that he had a sticker to give to each kid because they were so very good today.

That was greeted by a loud hurray!!! He put on a cartoon video entitled Ratatouille ... before he went around the bus to distribute the stickers.

A few minutes later, the guide, approached Mom and said,

"One for You ... "

Surprised, Mom took the sticker - thingy with a word of thanks. :D She didn't expect that, not at all. Shouldn't he just save the stickers for the kids?

She glanced at what she was holding in her hand ...

Time stood perfectly still ...

OMG ...

You must have seen your mother holding her breath ...

Oh --- My --- Gosh ...

She couldn't believe her eyes ...

Of all the stickers in the world that he could have given,

it was a SpongeBob sticker - card?

OMG ...

Zzzzzaaaa -- ppp !!!!

Call 174 : Rainbow SpongeBob

Dad and Mom could never understand why Justine and You
loved watching SpongeBob even when in your teens.

Overwhelmed by the SpongeBob moment, Mom slowly took her time to keep it in her bag. She's pretty sure You must have whispered to the guide ...

Give one to my Mom ... :D

Mom held her bag close to her chest.

Today, she has TWO ZAP items in her bag.

TWO ...

Yup, TWO ...

Like Mary and Elizabeth's good news.

Two means "take notice ..."

It's me, Mom ... :D

What an awesome day at the Field Trip, Son ...

Thank You for making your presence felt,

and for the two ZAP gifts that Mom received ... :D
