Call 358 : ELECTRIC BLUE

Hello Son,

Saturday, April 21

This Saturday morning, Dad and Mom went to your garden. It's your 27th month anniversary today. Justine did not go with us. Your sister was having classes that morning.

We were almost reaching the memorial garden.

Mom muttered under her breath that she has yet to receive a zap that morning. The radio was on. She found herself glaring at the player. Not one single song made sense that morning. All the songs that had come on had been so darn weird.

Frown.

Think.

Argh, she gave up. Mentally, she sent a dial-up connection right up to heaven. Yes, yes, only mothers with children in heaven are able to do that. Hah.

Hello?

Hello God?

Is Daniel there? Where is he? We haven't heard from him today. Why hasn't he said anything? Is he still sleeping? It's his 21st today. Could You please wake him up and get him to send us a zap?

She put down her invisible phone in her head ... and sighed heavily. Something always, always ... ALWAYS happen on your 21st ... apart from all the other days of the month.

Today, there was like - nothing ...

She hates that feeling ...

Mom began to feel quite irritated with the song that was on at that moment. She kept hearing the same line being repeated over and over and over again ...  Shouldn't it end already? Gosh, it's been going on like forever?

We're about to reach your garden ...

Maybe the next song is IF I DIE YOUNG ...

or or or ... 21 GUNS ...

or or or ... SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW ...

The song continued to grate at her nerves and all her functioning senses ...

this that this that - ELECTRIC BLUE ...

that this that this - ELECTRIC BLUE ...

bla bla bla - ELECTRIC BLUE ...

more bla bla bla - ELECTRIC BLUE ...

Yes, it was one very irritating Electric Blue song ...

Mom reached over to change the station, grumbling to Dad,

"None of his songs are on. Not a single one today. Why ah?" :(

The station was switched.

Mom leaned back.

Another weird song.

Dad said, "That was Electric Blue ..."

Pause ...

Your mother turned to look at Dad.

Should that mean something? You want the truth? It was unusual to hear Dad making a statement in an attempt to make a connection to You. Why, that was her expertise. Her God-given natural effortless expertise ... and nobody can take that away from her. Hah!

She clicked back to the Electric Blue station.

The song was still on. Aiyohhh ...

Your mother heard herself saying out loud, "Oh you mean, electric blue like ... like ... his ELECTRIC BLUE guitar?"

Or rather, your blue electric guitar ...

Dad said nothing.

"Why, what do you mean?" Mom asked.

Dad fell silent.

She hates it when Dad makes a "Oh time, stand still ..." statement and doesn't explain.

Grimace.

So far fetched.

She's trying too hard.

When it's a ZAP from her son from heaven, it shouldn't be so difficult. It's like SNAP!

Snap your fingers, please. You'd just know. You don't have to deduce or try to make a hypothesis.

You'd -- just -- know ...

Mom glanced at the time.

"Hey, it's 10:21 am ..." she said, with a reluctant smile.

Decode : 4

Hmmm ... it's always good to see her angel signs. Was that supposed to be a ZAP, Son? That ... that Electric Blue song, she wondered. Maybe it was ...

She wasn't sure ...

We reached your garden a few minutes later.

Mom took the candies and walked over to your garden plot. She brought a trolly filled with chocolates for You for Easter.

No, no, of course not. They are not all for You.

You're meant to share them ... :D

Chuckle.

Reaching your site, your mother stopped abruptly.

Hey, what's that on the ground?

She walked closer, narrowing her eye-brows ...

Oh my gosh ...

The blue towel was right at that spot as in the photo
when your mother found it.

Is that a blue towel?

BLUE???

Oh My Gosh ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

OMG honestly ...

Are You kidding her?

What are the chances of finding a BLUE towel at your garden spot?

Had it been pink or orange or yellow or green or purple or black or brown or white or grey ... it would NOT have zapped your mother at all.

No no no, not at all.

OMG ...

It was BLUE ...

Gosh, what are the chances?

Seriously, what are the chances?

Honestly, what are the chances of Mom finding a blue towel just right after all that Electric Blue lines she had been hearing and on top that, was she not wondering whether it was a zap from her son?

Omg, You were responding to your mother ...

  By Icehouse.

It's me la, Ma ... Slow la you, Ma ..

Replay ...

Just before we reached here, the song was going on and on about Electric Blue. Mom would not have thought much about it except that Dad for some reason made a statement ... that um, caused her to think.

You must have shook your head when Mom changed the station, and whispered to Dad.

Tell Mom that was Electric Blue, Dad ...

Dad approached.

Grinning from ear to ear, Mom pointed to the blue towel on the ground, and said to your father,

"Finally ..." :D
