Call 360 : FOREVER YOUNG

Hello Son,                                                                     (continue from Call 359)

Sunday, April 22

Mom and Justine went for Sunday mass.

Dad was in Penang. He left on Saturday afternoon.

During mass that Sunday morning, Mom noticed a woman who was using that handbag gadget sitting on our row, on the right end.

Huh?

Another one?

Her immediate thoughts.

The Sunday BEFORE (April 15), she had noticed TWO similar gadgets on the row in front of her then. Mom had taken a photo. Of course, she had been staring at those two gadgets the whole time during mass that Sunday, reflecting on how her son had given her a similar gadget for Mother's Day last year.

Omg ... that was surreal.

Back to the present ...

Mom nudged Jus to take a photo. Your mother had left her handphone in school. Your sister did - discreetly - the eviDANs is still in her cell at the time of writing this entry.

For a whole year, Mom has not seen this handbag accessory, and then all of a sudden, she sees two on the row in front of her the Sunday before, and one on her row, that Sunday morning.

Strange ...

There's two on your row, Ma ...

the second one is in your handbag. :D

But of course ... there were two on her row - Hello? Does she not have one in her handbag?

It reminded Mom that Mother's Day is drawing near. Honestly, it was so queer for Mom to see those two gadgets, that Sunday (April 15). Two handbags hanging down from two accessory hooks trying to make a statement to her. :D

Yes, the same gadget that You gave Mom on Mother's Day last year. Being in heaven did not stop You from giving your mother two little gifts on Mother's Day. One was a compact mirror and the other, was the handbag hook. :D

From You, surely.

Definitely You.

Nobody, nobody but You.

Especially so when Aunt D said, as she handed the two little accessories to your mother,

"They're FREE."

FREE ???

OMG ...

Mom had written a lengthy entry about that, which was lost during publication. Google's fault. Mom's still quite pissed about that.

Call 213 : Tell Dad & Call 214 : Missing Entry

Taken on Sunday April 15.

Just checked the time and guess what?

The time is recorded as 8:44 am. :D

Grin. Grin Grin.

After mass, Justine and Mom walked over to our car which was parked by the side of the road. No sooner had your mother started the ignition, the song WE ARE YOUNG came on the radio.

Startled, Mom was quick to point to the time.

It was 11:14 am.

Decode : 21 / 24

Awww ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

We had both heard WE ARE YOUNG the evening before.

By Cast of Glee.

And now we hear it again ...

It was almost as though You were with us ...

Oh, what is she saying ...

Of course, You were / are with us ...

It's quite obvious ...

Thanks Son ... :D

So anyway ...

That evening, Justine and Mom drove to one of the coffee shops nearby to have dinner. After a quick meal, we were heading back to the condo, when believe it or not, another YOUNG song came on the radio.

Mom heard it.

Forever Young ... this version is by Rod Steward.

Mom was not too familiar with the lyrics but had exclaimed excitedly that that was the 5th YOUNG song since her entry in Call 357 : Young Songs

Gosh, how many YOUNG songs, are there anyway?

At home, before the computer, she checked the lyrics:

May the good Lord be with you
Down every road that you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud, dignified and true
And do unto others as you'd have done to you

Be courageous and be brave

And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever young, forever young

May good fortune be with you

May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to Heaven
With a prince or a vagabond

And may you never love in vain

And in my heart you will remain
Forever young, forever young

And when you finally fly away

I'll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell

But whatever road you choose

I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever young, forever young

By Rod Steward.

There isn't a nice video for this song unfortunately.

Or maybe there is, but Mom can't seem to find it.

The lyrics somehow have a way of making her feel like she was meant to read the message in the song. Don't You think? The distance from the coffee shop to the condo was short, at the most, 5 minutes' drive away.

Yet, she had heard the song from beginning to end.

Hmm, she was so meant to hear it.

Justine said, "Daniel knows how to play that Led Zeppelin song Stairway to Heaven ..."

Yes, Mom remembers with a dull ache in her heart that she had mentioned about that in the blog somewhere, some time ago.

That night, Mom was on the sofa, looking out into the dark sky.

The day before was your 21st.

You really are with us, aren't You, Daniel? You really, really are. You know what's going on, and You know how to make your presence felt, don't You?

Mom forgot to mention this ... but that night before your 21st, on Friday 20th, she had checked her cellphone at one point and noticed a text message. It was sent earlier that evening, except that she had not noticed it until then (it was after midnight). After reading the sms, Mom checked the details of the time sent, and was pleasantly surprised to see :

4:21:24 pm

Decode : All You.

Oh wow ...

Then, just as she was basking in the omg moment, she heard the name Daniel being mentioned on television. It was Covert Affairs. She thought she heard wrongly at first, but the name was mentioned another 4 to 5 times in the next minute or so. Mom found herself springing up from the sofa to check her handphone.

Gasp ...

12:24 pm ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

Dad was by the computer (this was Friday 20th). Your mother had thrust her phone to his face to make him see the angel time.

He saw ...

Oh yes, he saw ...

Of course, he saw ...

December 24 ...

Who else could it be?

You.

All You.

Nobody, nobody but Me, Ma ... :D

Chuckle.

You and Dad share that birthdate ...

It's just so very amazing how You make your presence felt.

Every little thing reminds us of You ...

You'll stay forever young in our hearts, Daniel ... <3

Keep the zaps coming, Son ...
