Call 465 : BRIDGET JONES

Hello Son,

The time on the computer says it's 1:11 pm now.

Just the right time to make our long distance call.

Mom is re-reading Aunty D's sms, and still shaking her head in disbelief.

Seriously.

Aunty D said in her sms

"I asked my fren for her maid agency contact ... and she gave a guy's name, Pxx Kxx ... and I was wondering if this guy can be trusted bc he was asking for deposit d ... then ... look at his email at the end of conversation ..."

Mom immediately felt suspicious ... she didn't like the sound of the name ... no good can come from associating yourself with a stranger called Pxx Kxx ... What is Aunty D trying to do? Could she not smell a rat here?

Clicking on the image that Aunty D sent, Mom's eyes caught sight of the email and time stood for a good 3 seconds.

Omg ... she'd breathed softly to herself.

Seriously?

Omg ...

The email add reads : danielxxxxxxxxxx@yahoo.com

Honestly, what are the chances? A million names that could have been on the email add, but it is one that would zap your aunt and your mother.

Mom dialled your aunt's number.

Aunty D said, "Hello ..."

Mom was like, "Eh, let me tell you what I did with my maid agency ..."

The line went dead.

H-huh? Hello? Hello?

Mom dialled again.

Line was engaged. Aunty D was probably trying to call her.

So anyway, finally, when we spoke again, Aunty D was laughing out loud, as she said, "I think he doesn't want you to talk to me la ... hahahaha ... just when you said, let me tell you, the line was cut ... hahahaha ... he doesn't want you to tell me ... hahahaha ..."

Mom laughed. Yeah, okay ... that was a definite coinciDANS.

Also, Aunty D told her, "Look at the email add ... it also says kish ... (Aunty C's dog) ... and Uncle C (Aunty D's husband) pointed out, "It also says ana ... as in Anne (Grandma) ..."

Hmmm ... a stranger asking for 3k deposit ... but has a connecting add with the names daniel, ana and kish in it? Should that be enough assurance? On top of that, the line was cut when Mom wanted to caution your aunt.

Aiyoh Ma ... Where's your faith, Ma?

Grimace.

It's in a mustard seed somewhere ...

Yeah, okay ... Let's find the mustard seed, shall we?

You tell her where she should look first ...

Somebody get the magnifying glass ...

Humph ...

Anyway, Mom told Aunty D that when Mom applied for her maid, she had called the prospective candidate first in the maid's country and interviewed the maid over the telephone before paying the deposit to the agent, whom she has never met, but got his contact from a flyer that was left in the school's mail box.

So anyway ...

That was the zap we had this morning.

Oh and don't forget, don't forget ... that whilst the sms-es and calls were happening this morning, Bridget Jones (The Edge of Reason) the movie, was on TV ... and You know, how Mom thinks Hugh Grant is cute ...

Hugh Grant ... his character in the movie is Daniel Cleaver, if You remember ...

Pause ...

A longer pause here, please ...

And a little shake of the head ...

Very cleaver, Daniel ...

Smile ...

Over to You, Son ... <3

(Mom just found that mustard seed image, and gosh, You're not gonna believe this, but during this past week (which ended on Friday yesterday), we were doing HOME PETS and the children were taking care of a bowl fish ... during feeding time we have to remind the children, to take only a dot of a fish food ... on their tiny lil spoon ... to feed the fish ... the dot of which looked quite similar to the mustard dot ...

Gosh truly, Son ... eveywhere we are, everything we do, there You'll be ... doing it with us ...

Very cleaver, Daniel ... :D
