Call 460 : PINK CADILLAC

Hello Son,

Saturday is here. Our call day.

Mom always looks forward to our call time, Son.

Sigh, another week just flew past. How time flies and flies and flies.

In the blink of an eye.

Being in school is part of the plan, isn't it? When Mom's in school, she's so very occupied with the activities that she'd lose track of time ... and before she can say ... say ... supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ... Saturday is here again.

Pause ...

No, You did not watch Mary Poppins when You were a child ... yeah, she had to check Google for that spelling. Anyway, You have plenty of time now. Seriously, sometimes Mom wonders how You pass your time up there. What do You do each day? Yeah, and what does Jesus do each day? And Mama Mary? If only Mom could have a little peek into heaven and see how You're doing. You're in a better place, she knows ... of course she knows ... that doesn't mean she stops wondering ...

Are You taller now?

Hmmm ... You must be ...

Anyway, Aunty D sent this cute photo of Baby Megan on Thursday evening.

Don't You just have to smile when You see the above photo?

Mom was grinning from ear to ear.

Yes, her smile was as wide as when she saw this :-

It was on Thursday, mid day, she had plonked herself on a seat at the 6 year old class. Teacher E was attending to a boy who was reading at the time. Mom needed to have a word with Teacher E, and so she sat and watched the boy read ... thinking at the same time, how much the boy has progressed.

A girl sitting on Mom's left, tapped Mom's shoulder.

"Teacher Lynn ..." the girl said.

Mom replied brightly, "Yes E ..."

E pointed to her writing book (picture above).

Mom looked ... and ... she had to turn her head away to hide an omg expression, before pretending to take her mobile out of her pants pocket.

"Wow ... your writing is so neat, E ... good work ... let me take a picture ..."

Snap ...

Free ...

Notice that? E had just completed writing the free word, and it was as if an angel had whispered to the little girl to get Mom's attention right then. Think about it, E could have finished all the words before showing Mom, but no ... after she was done with free, she tapped on your mother's shoulder.

Zap zap zap ...

Smile ...

I'm right here, Ma ... :D

Mom heard You loud and clear. Daily, You zap Mom and remind her that you're near, Son. For that, Mom's grateful to Jesus. God is good to us.

That evening at home, Mom told Dad about the free zap.

She did notice though that there was only one zap that day. The white feather at our balcony floor was not counted. That did not feel like a zap. She was trying too hard. That was totally random, no connection, she'd felt. She couldn't get all excited whenever she sees a white feather, could she?

She was trying too hard ...

She was trying too hard ...

She was trying too hard ...

Before retiring to the bedroom that Thursday night, Mom stopped by Justine's door.

Knock Knock ...

Your mother heard some kind of sound.

Mom opened the door.

Justine sprang from her seat and said, "Ahhh Ma, I have something to show you ..."

Your sister picked up a tee-shirt from her bed and put it against her body.

Justine pointed, as she explained, "The front says IDC ... see the big gold words ... which stands for, IMU Dance Club ... and the back says :I'm gonna keep dancing till the world ends ..."

Immediately, Mom pointed, to the word dancing and said with a smile, "dan."

Justine raised her eyebrow ... then nodded.

Mom said, "What about the front? IDC?"

Your sister made a face and thought for a bit before saying, "Daniel Carrot ... and carrot is orange ... ahah!"

Two small zaps just before went to bed.

She had to smile.

The white feather is counted la, Maaaa ... :D

That happened on Thursday.

Yesterday, on Friday, after school, Mom went down to the car. Aunty D in the Camry and Dad in the Exora, came at the same time. Dad wanted to use the Camry to drive up to Kuantan. They exchanged cars.

As Aunty D was driving out the exit, another vehicle came along and stopped right behind Aunty D.  Mom couldn't help but saw the number plate before her eyes.

Gasp.

2121

Omg ...

You really do know that it's Aunty Di, don't You?

21 Guns ...

Aunty D's ring tone ...

Mom jumped into the car and told Dad excitedly, "Look at that car ... 2121 ... twenty-one two times ... Omg ..."

Dad turned to look.

She did not manage to take a photo. Oh, don't even get her started as to why and how come she did not manage to take a photo.

Grimace.

Dad asked where should we go for a quick lunch. Mom named the place, and added, "I want to go to the other branch ... "

Perhaps her son whispered to her, to go to the other branch ... which was a little further by the way ...

Approaching the shops, Mom saw this car in front of her.

The registration number zapped her.

Omg ...

1234 ....

That could only mean one thing ... one code ... between mother and son ...

There's only one way, two say ...

those three words, four You - uuu ...

I love you ...

You used to sing this song, Daniel, remember? With your finger action and all ...

1 2 3 4  Ma ... :D

Zap zap zap ..

That Friday evening, we were in the car. Dad was driving ... a song was on the radio. That song reminded Mom of a very old television comedy series, PERFECT STRANGERS.

She was just listening ... as normal ... as usual ... as always ... no quickening of heart beat ... or trembling at any omg zaps ... no, nothing ... until, she suddenly decided to sing along ...

... at the pink cadillac line ...

We're going riding on the freeway

Gonna love in my pink Cadillac

Pause ...

Gasp ...

Omg ...

Freeway???

Omg ...

Zap zap zap ...

At the point of writing this paragraph, Mom googled the lyrics for the FREEWAY OF LOVE. You must have whispered to Mom to do that. It's an old song, there's no way she's gonna waste time looking for a youtube version to upload on to your blog.

Yet, something made her check the lyrics.

And she did ...

Omgosh ...

Seriously ?

What are the chances???

The first line reads :

I knew you'd be a vision in white

Omg ...

What are the chances???

Could You read that again, please?

I - knew - you'd - be - a - vision - in - white ...

Gosh, You really are talking to Mom, aren't You?

Mom hears You ... loud and clear ... your holler all the way from heaven.

The - white - feather - is - counted, Maaaa ...

But of course ... but of course ...

What was she thinking ???

How could she doubt that?

Of course, it's counted.

She just had to be sure.

Thank You, Son, for staying close and watching over us.

Keep the zaps coming.

Have to take Justine for some lunch now.

Be good.

Love You, Son ... <3
