Call 440 : LES MISERABLES

Hello Son,

Today is Friday.

It's a public holiday over here in KL.

What a nice break ... again.

Daniel, Mom really must say just how awesome it is to always feel your presence ... it's like ... You're just -- right here ... Yes, HERE!!! Zap zap zap ... always connecting ... always reminding your mother that you're near ... the waves the line the link the bond ... however You may call it ... they're all You ... from you ... by You ...

Nobody nobody but You ...

Yeah Son, even on days and times when Mom thinks ... hey, why today ... how come today ... she did not get a zap ... the next thing she knows, a zap would come a-calling.

It's amazing ... Yes, truly amazing. It's like You really know your mother's mind ... You really know how to answer her thoughts.

Honestly ...

On Wednesday, Jan 30 ... Aunty D sent a text to the family (15:04 pm) :

i'm at passport office ... a patient i treated saw me ... took my stuff n is making megs and my passport asap ... no wait!!!

Mom had read that text with a smile ... She text back :

Angel help la ... so ez ...

Aunty D replied right back :

I know ... so cool ... thank gudness. i was late getting here some more ...

So anyway, that happened on Wednesday ... Mom did not think much about it after that.

Then, that evening @ 7:34 pm, Aunty C sent out a text to the family members :

Listening to Les Mis original broadway ... The movies better for most parts ... except for javert ... hehe

Mom replied instantly :

Reddddd ...

( ... being the song Red & Black, in Les Miserables ... note that there are like 40 over songs in that movie but, she mentioned this one ... on hindsight, an angel must have whispered to her ...)

Reddddd, Ma ... :D

Les Miserables The Movie

The next day on Thursday, January 31, Mom casually checked her messages after school and saw several unread texts from the family.

Her pulse had quickened when she read Aunty J (in USA)'s message ... it totally made her day ... she glanced at the time the message was sent ... and noted with a slow nod and a smile that it was at

12:22 pm.

Decode : 21 / 4

All her angel numbers.

All good.

All You.

So easy.

Aunty J's sms read :

When I saw Chare's line Redddd I was like ... How did she know a boy named Redd signed up today? Waaah ...

Hold your breath, please ...

Pause and reflect ...

Gosh ...

Omg ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

You must be telling Mom that Aunty J had enrolled a boy that day ... especially when we were talking about school stuff and enrolments at the time. A boy called Redd ... Isn't it strange that Mom had written the single word "Reddddd" in that way?

You're practically in the conversation, Daniel.

Yes, only You can be with Mom (KL) and Aunty J (USA) at the same time. What are the chances of your mother mentioning this Reddddd word, and on the same day, Aunty J enrolled a boy by that name?

No chance.

Angel chance.

A pure coinciDANS, that's for sure.

Hmmmm ...

Two very clever sms zaps ... Aunty D and Aunty J ...

Doubt no more ... you woman of little faith ... :D

Does Mom not always ask for TWO signs? For her to know with one hundred and one percent certainty that the zaps are from her angel-son somewhere over the rainbow?

Wow Son ... totally amazing ...

You made your mother's day ... always ... and daily You make sure Mom knows that You're near.

So anyway, today ... today, yet again, something awesome happened.

Dad. Mom and Justine left the condo late morning to Bangsar. Believe it or not, but today, your mother's spectacle frame - yeah the same one she has been wearing for the past 20 years - finally decided to break into two. So, obviously, we had to go to the optical shop.

No choice.

We were in the car, and had just about left the condo, when the song I HAD A DREAM came on the radio. Mom was not really listening at first (checking phone messages at the time) until she suddenly realised that this is the song with the I BELIEVE IN ANGELS line.

Omg ...

She glanced at the time.

It was 11:29 am.

Decode : 4

Omg ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP

That line soon came ...

I believe in angels ... Mom sang out loud, so You could hear.

Mamma Mia The Movie

Could You?

Could You really?

Dad seems to think so.

Grin.

So anyway, we spent about 2 solid hours at the optical shop. Believe it or not.

Yeah yeah ... Angels we can believe easily, but 2 hours in a spectacle shop is hard to take in, huh. But it's true. You assigned a really nice and patient boy for us. Not once did he show any sign of impatience at our indecisiveness. Most customers just came and went ... but us ... we stayed there ... like ... like we lived there.

2 hours choosing spectacle frame... unbelievable.

Justine and Mom would have tried on like about a hundred different frames in that time. It didn't help that Dad kept bringing new frames from one display table to another, for us to try on. From fashionable and trendy, to weird to plain ugly ... we tried them all. By the way, we had the most frames on our table. Not that we want to boast about that, but it's true.

So anyway, Mom decided on a purple frame whilst Justine, on a black one. Your sister really look like a serious medical student with those new glasses. Very nice.

We had our lunch at an Indian banana leaf restaurant. It has been a while since we ate with our fingers. :D Needless to say here that we totally pigged out today. We wish You were with us, Daniel ... That empty chair on our table ... of course, of course You were there ... I believe in angels (tune) ...

Sigh ...

Still ...

We really miss You, Son ... very very much ... :(

Thank God for all the zaps and signs.

If not for the daily inciDANS, Mom will not be able go through each day ... honestly.

So anyway ...

After lunch, we went to EPF. Mom wanted to settle the staff's EPF for January.

She took a number  ...

looked at it and smiled ...

9144

80

440

Her brains started : nine one that's eight ... four four that's zero ... decode four four zero ...

Her mental math has improved since You moved to heaven, she must say.

Decode : 440

440?

Why, today is her 440 th call to her son in heaven.

Oh Gee Wow ...

What a coinciDANS ... She must call her son today.

He will be waiting ...

You know huh ...

(Oh gosh, TITANIC just came on the telly at this moment of writing this paragraph -- My heart will go on.)

... that Mom's gonna call You today ... Call 440 ...

Yes Son, You are safe in Mom's heart and her heart will go on and on and on.

After the EPF, we drove home. By the way, she did not take a photo of the piece of paper with the zap number. Dad was with her -- she has a witness. Always good to have a witness ... because sometimes, the stories are just too incredible.

Arriving at Taman Desa, Mom asked Dad to stop by the bank. She wanted to deposit a cheque. So Dad made a turn to the bank. Mom handed your father the cheque.

A few minutes later, Dad came back to the car. Mom handed another piece of cheque, and some cash she suddenly remembered she had in her bag from school's collection.

"Why didn't you just give me the whole thing just now?"

Mom mumbled evasively, "I just remembered ..."

Dad wasn't in the least bit impressed by her memory.

He gave her -- that -- look of ... of ... of ... annoyance, was it? She can't be sure ... she had decided to avoid his ... um, confrontational gaze.

Smirk.

Oh gosh, Daniel ... You won't believe what just happened ...

Mom made a search on google (after the Smirk word) for an image to upload -- she had keyed in the words echi illustration ... a page appeared ... she scrolled down to view the images and oh my gosh ...

Omg ...

Omg ...

Omg ...

Would You believe it -- but she saw this face looking at her?

Mom yelped in surprise.

Dad and Justine are right here on the sofa.

Dad said, "Son's saying, will this image do? Hahaha ..."

Mom snapped a photo ...

Unbelievable ...

Honestly, what are the chances?

She took a second photo ...

Gosh ...

See the light?

That must be the light from heaven.

Seriously, she did not have to take a second photo ...

Nor a third ...

Pause ...

Oh wow ... the light ... a second time?

Two times ...

You must have whispered to your mother to snap like, what 3 times?

It's Me, Ma ... :D

She could almost hear the words ...

Omg ... that's just so incredible ...

Take a moment to breathe everything in ...

And breathe out ...

Anyway, where was she?

At the bank ...

Yes, Dad had gone to the teller to deposit her second cheque and some cash. He came back a few minutes later. We drove home. It takes about 2 - 3 minutes to reach our condo from the bank.

Would You like to know what happened next?

Oh gosh ...

Unbelievable ...

As we were approaching the condo, the unexpected happened.

IF I DIE YOUNG came on the radio and filled our senses.

Oh gosh ....

Mom burst out excitedly, "How long has it been since we last heard IF I DIE YOUNG?"

Omg ...

Son Son Son ...

We reached the condo ... the song was still on. We stayed in the car. Mom was singing at the top of her voice. You must have heard. Were You shaking your head?

The song ended ...

A sudden flash of enlightenment zapped your mother. She exclaimed, with her hands in all directions, "Omg ... he must have whispered to me to give you that second cheque and the cash, so you had to go to the teller again, and waste a few more minutes ... If we had come home right after you deposited that first cheque, we would have arrived too early and miss the song -- totally ... Omg, don't You see?"

Of course Dad saw ...

Gosh Daniel ... How do You do it?

Truly, everywhere we are, there You'll be ...

Lord, make me a rainbow

I'll shine down on my mother

She'll know I'm safe with You

As she stands under my colors

Thank You, Son ... Mom knows ...You're safe with Jesus and Mary ... <3
