Call 338 : NO PLASTERS

Hello Son,

It's been amazing how You make your presence felt, Daniel. Daily, something would happen to remind your mother that You are very, very near. :D

Tuesday, March 6

It was after school about 1:30 pm.

There was a 6 year old boy (A) who was waiting for his father to pick him up. He was at the material time, playing with a 2 year old boy (X) ... They were both pulling at a chair the last time Mom turned to look at them.

Before long, A came to Mom and said,

"Look what that kid did to me ..."

That kid?

Chuckle.

"What did X do?" Mom asked.

A pointed to his foot. There was a red scratch on it.

"He scratched my foot."

"Aww ... Never mind," Mom said, before continuing, "Let's get a plaster for you."

Stepping on the foot stool in front of her, she reached for the First Aid Kit that was on the top shelf in the kitchen. Opening the box, your mother picked up the box of plaster.

Oh dear, it was empty. :(

No plasters?

Gee, who took the last one?

Mentally, she noted to get a box of plaster later before going home.

Mom applied some ointment on his scratch, before asking him if he was hungry. He said yes.

She scooped him a bowl of fried rice.

To cut a long story short, A asked for another 3 more helpings. Mom was rather surprised as this boy is not known to eat that much. He really must be very hungry.

4 bowls?

4?

Hmmm ... interesting ... her brains started working over time. Let's see ... what have we got here. A scratched foot, and 4 bowls of rice.

Oh well, she shrugged.

Nothing ... she got nothing ...

So anyway, the day soon passed and Mom forgot about the plaster inciDAN. It was after 7 pm, when Dad came to the school to fetch her.

Boy, You're so not gonna believe this.

Dad came to her, held out a box, and said,

"Somebody left this downstairs."

Mom took the box and asked, "What is this?"

Dad said, "A box of plaster."

Pause ...

What???

OMG ...

Did You hear that???

OMG ...

A box of plasters?

Mom was suddenly uncertain, and wondered if she had asked your father to buy plasters for her.

Your mother asked, "Did I ask You to buy this?"

Dad replied, rather impatiently, "No ... I found this box downstairs on the bench (at the school entrance) ... somebody left it there."

OMG ...

You've gotta be kidding ...

What are the chances?

Mom opened the box and found that it was a new box with 10 strips of sterile plasters individually packaged.

She blurted out excitedly, "OMG, this afternoon I needed a plaster for A, and our plaster box was empty ... I told myself to remember to get a box later ... and now you're bringing me a box of plasters. OMG, I can't believe it ... I can't believe it ..."

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

You wanted plasters, Ma? :D

We locked up. Mom was still talking at a hundred words per minute. How awesome. How incredibly awesome. OMG, it was incredible. How would You explain this except that an angel is around.

Yes, an angel ...

Nobody, nobody but You ... :D

In the car, as we were driving home, the song One Thousand Years came on the radio. Mom glanced at the time.

It was 7:16 pm.

Decode : 14

About the same time, a car with the registration plate 414 drove past us. Mom had pointed that out excitedly to your father.

Yes Son ...

That's easy ...

Thanks for the plasters, Son ... <3

That was really awesome ...

March 11 - Will continue after dinner ...

Call 337 : PASSWORD DARKNESS

Hello Son,

Thursday, March 1

It was after 2 pm when Justine called to say that Dad has just picked her up from college, and whether Mom wanted to join them for a quick lunch. Mom was in school.

Mom said, "Give me a call when you're here ..." She was busy at that moment. The day care attendants were preparing the children for nap time.

So anyway, your sister called some 5 minutes later. They were here in school, already? Mom said she wasn't ready to leave yet. She told your sister to go with Dad, and tapau (take-away) for her.

However, Justine and Dad came up. They played with the kids while waiting for your mother. By the time Mom was ready to leave, it was about 20 minutes later.

We hopped into the Camry. Yeah, Camry. The school's MPV is at the workshop, remember? As Dad was turning out into the main road, guess what?

IF I DIE YOUNG came on the radio.

Loud and clear.

Click on title to view video.

The time was 2:50 pm.

It wasn't a zap time, she knows, but HelloOooo ...

IF I DIE YOUNG ???

That's ZAP enough. Don't You think? It sure felt like You were with us in the car when the song came on. Yeah, like a family. We miss You, Son ... we really miss having You around.

We drove to our favorite pan mee (flour noodles) coffee shop. It was only a 5 minute drive from the kindy to the coffee shop. Yet, in that brief time, we got to hear IF I DIE YOUNG ... from beginning to end.

So meant to be.

The timing was perfect. Had Mom gone down to the car when Justine called the moment they arrived, we would have missed the song. You must have whispered to them to go up to the kindy and wait for a bit.

Justine said, "VIDEO GAMES was on just now when Dad came to pick me up. It was 2:22 pm ..."

Decode : 24

This song first introduced itself to Justine and Mom while we were in the car a few weeks ago. That was the first time we heard it. Your sister was kinda hooked to the tune after that and kept on singing that "Video Games" part in low tones.

Video Games definitely reminded us of You since that was your favorite past time activity. Justine said, the song is sung by Lana Del Ray ... and she reminded Mom that Lana was the first girl You were paired with in kindergarten to do a Western dance during your year end concert.

See how we try to make it connect?

You must be shaking your head, huh.

 Lana Del Ray

Two songs ...

That brought a smile to your mother's face.

Anyway ...

That evening, Dad called Mom over. He was deleting old messages in his cellphone, and came across one of your saved text. It was in 2007. You had registered online for some kind of free game or something. Dad pointed to your username and password.

Mom peered over and read out loud.

username : purekiller88

password : darkness

In 2007 ... You were 13 years old then.

On hindsight, those gloomy words could be reflecting your possible thoughts about your physical health then. By that age, You would have understood what a brain tumor was, and that it was more than just "water." Besides, You had undergone 4 open-brain surgeries by aged 13. You never really led on your worry, fear or anxiety to your family though.

Mom must say she felt sad seeing those words in Dad's cellphone and was reminded at one time, she saw a scribble that You made on one of your exercise books :

"I know who my enemy is ..."

That Thursday evening, we went for our dinner nearby the condo shops. It was drizzling lightly. Dad drove to the shops, and of course we were greeted with fully-packed parking bays, with cars double parking from one end to the other. Dad stopped in front of the coffee shop that we were supposed to have our dinner at, and said, "Yall get down first ..."

We did not get down. After the flood incident the day before, we didn't feel like leaving Dad in the car alone, in the rain, eventhough it was just a light drizzle.

Dad was like, "Go down la ..."

The next thing we knew, a man appeared from God knows where, to remove his car that was by the side of our car. This is in front of the coffee shop, and our car was in fact in the way of that vehicle coming out of its bay.

Mom said with a happy grin, "Son says, park here, Dad ..." :D

Gosh that was surreal. The driver in the car that was in the bay right by where our car had stopped, drove out. Oh Boy ... How perfect.

Thanks for that, Son ... That was awesome. You know, we were so overwhelmed we forgot to check that vehicle's registration number.

Still, we couldn't stop talking about it while waiting for our food to arrive.

Later at home ...

Mom found herself at the computer, googling videos by ENYA

Your mother finds ENYA's songs always haunting and for some reason, that day, she felt like she had to listen to the singer's soul-penetrating music. She checked a few videos before coming across one that caught her attention.

The title was somewhat mysterious, she has to admit. If she didn't know better, she would have said that the thumbnail video was beckoning her to click on it.

And so she did ...

MAY IT BE ...

Lord of the Rings

As she was viewing the video, she thought at one part, she heard the word "darkness."

Time stood still for two seconds.

W-what?

Darkness?

As in your password - darknesss?

Did she hear right?

Mom googled the lyrics of the song.

click on title to view video

May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far You are from home

Mornie utulie (Darkness has come)

Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie (Darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within You now

May it be the shadow's call

Will fly away
May it be your journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun (Son)

Oh Gee Wow Son ...

What a song ... How deep are the lyrics. You walk a lonely road. How far You are from home. Darkness has come (presumably to your family). Believe and You will find your way (to Jesus). Darkness has fallen. A promise lives within You now.

Yeah, God's promise of eternal life.

When the night is overcome, You may rise to find the Son (and You have, we know this to be true).

Oh Boy ... what a song. It totally describes your mother's emotions at that time. What with the darkness and all ...

After that video, Mom saw a thumbnail video of

TODAY MY LIFE BEGINS by Bruno Mars.

Your mother has not heard of this song before, but it sure felt like it was a good idea to listen to the song.

Today My Life Begins ...

That particular video that she clicked on, had the name Jaeson Ma right at the end of it. That zapped her. OMG.

Jaeson Ma???

As in : Jason, Ma ...

Like ...

Me, Ma ... :D

Unfortunately, Mom is not able to find that video at the time of writing this entry. The reception is not so great and downloading videos take a while ... so she's gonna take it that, that message was for her at that moment that night ... Yeah, after all the darkness ... she was meant to hear the song : Today My Life Begins.

Bruno Mars

What a great song, this is Daniel.

For You, for Mom, for Dad, for Justine ...

Merlin is on now. :D Mom's gonna logged off now and watch Merlin for a bit before dinner. Keep the zaps coming, kay ... and stay close always.

We love You, Son ... <3

Call 336 : NOAH'S ARK

Hello Son,

Wednesday, Feb 29

Mom was in school.

Sometime in the afternoon, Mom's handphone rang. She was at the material time, having a discussion with one of the teachers.

It was Dad.

Mom answered the call, and heard Dad said,

"Something happened to the (school) car ..."

"What happened?"

"It was flooded in ..."

It was flooded in? What did he mean - it was flooded in? Mom did not ask further as she did not have time for lengthy explanations. She was with a teacher at the time.

She asked instead, her tone hurried, "Where are you now?"

Dad answered, "In the tow truck."

Oh okay ... that doesn't sound so bad. Your mother cut short the phone call and returned to her discussion.

Oh Boy ...

Little did she know then that something major happened to Dad in the car that afternoon. She only knew when Dad came to fetch her home in the evening about 7 pm.

Your father came to the school, looking like he'd just had a shower. He said he was caught in the rain just now, and had gone home first to shower and change. Yes, it had rained quite heavily in the afternoon.

Oh okay ...

"So what happened to the car?"

Dad said, "The engine is completely destroyed ..."

"What? Why? How come? What happened?"

"Water got in ..." Dad said.

Water ...

Wait a minute - water?

Did Dad say - water?

Oh, stop! Does she  always have to connect everything to her son?

Dot 23 : Fluid

Mom walked over to her desk to clear up and put away her things.

"The cost of repairs could come up to about 10K ..."

Your mother spun around.

"What? Don't be silly. These people are just trying to pull a fast one. It's probably just 2K ..."  She snorted with disgust.

It wasn't until much later at home when Mom saw the school's Transport Book soaking wet on the dining table, did Dad begin to tell her properly and clearly exactly what happened this afternoon when the car was "flooded in."

Mom asked, "Eh, what happened to the book?"

Dad said, "I told you the car was flooded in ..."

Mom frowned, "But this book was in the dashboard ..."

Dad said, "Yes, that was the water level inside the car ..."

Pause ...

W-what??? The water level was up to the dashboard

OMG ...

"There's a small hole in the engine. It exploded apparently."

OMG ...

"Good thing the car was surrounded by water otherwise ..."

"OMG ... So exactly how high was the water level?"

The car engine apparently stopped the moment Dad drove into the "small puddle." The water began to rise very quickly ... Dad was not aware that the water was rising as he was on the phone trying to call a mechanic. Besides, it was still raining heavily outside and so he stayed in the car. However, within minutes, water began to seep in and only then did he realize that the water level (outside) had risen up to the door handle level.

He tried to open the door then, and he couldn't. He said he felt like the door was sealed. OMG ...

Mom's getting the goose bumps writing this  ...

OMG, Dad was trapped inside the car?

The pressure from water outside that was at the level of the car door handle prevented him from opening the door. Dad said he tried to open the door a few times, and he couldn't, despite using all his strength.

OMG ...

Dad said, "The car was floating ... "

"What??? ... You mean, like Noah's Ark???"

"Something like that ..."

"So how did You open the door in the end?"

"Suddenly, it could open ..."

There ... She knew it ...

"Son ... that was Son ..." your mother said.

"Didn't anyone help You?" Mom asked next.

Dad said 2 Malay guys on motorbikes stopped to help him, after he was out of the car, to push the car to the side of the road.

Two Malay boys?

Two?

Of course, there must be two ...

On Saturday, March 3, three days after uh, Dad's adventure, Mom and Dad were in the car.

Mom happened to mention, "That day in the car, Son was definitely with You."

Dad nodded.

Mom continued, "He was probably saying, I'm right here, Dad. Don't worry. God has told me what to do."

Dad smiled at the thought. That sure sounded like something You'd do.

Mom went on, "I mean, c'mon on ... You said yourself the door couldn't open ... and then suddenly, it could. C'mon, it's so obvious. Son was with You ..."

We were at the traffic lights. Suddenly, Mom was alerted to a Mercedes in front of us.

Picture taken on Saturday, March 3 @ 11:11 am.

11:11? A definite coinciDANS. :D

You must have heard your mother yelped excitedly,

"Look! Look! WED 19 ... OMG ...

That water incident was on Wednesday, wasn't it?

He's telling You, Dad, I was there, Dad.

And 19 ... That's 44

Our Code 44 : Everywhere I am, there You'll be ...

OMG ... What are the chances?"

Taken in April 2009 in Malacca.

At the point of writing the above paragraph, Mom checked the time Dad called her on that day (while he was in the tow truck).

Oh boy, would You believe it but ...

the time Dad called her is recorded as 2:44 pm.

Decode : 24 (Your birthday) 4 (You)

Yes Son, You were there with Dad, that's for sure ... :D

At the same time, Mom finds herself checking the meaning behind the name MERCEDES. Now could You kindly tell her please, why would she do that? Why? You must have whispered to her.

Did You, Daniel? Did You whisper to Mom???

Check the meaning of MERCEDES, Ma ... :D

Yes, she hears You, Son ...

Mom googled the word Mercedes to check the meaning behind it.

Oh My ... You're so not gonna believe this but ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

According to online check on the meaning behind this word, it is of Spanish origin, and the meaning of Mercedes is "Mercies."

It is apparently used in reference to the Virgin Mary, Santa Maria de las Mercedes as "Our Lady of Mercies."

Another check says :

Mercedes means "Mary of Mercies" in Spanish.

Oh Wow Daniel ... How absolutely wonderful for Mom to read this. Your mother is humbled by this revelation. Please tell Mama Mary thank you for being there that day and for keeping Dad safe, Son.

It's the LENT period now ... a time for soul-searching and repentance. Soon, it will be Easter. Easter brings a whole new meaning for your family ... a happy reminder that You are alive today because of Jesus Christ.  :D

Keep the zaps coming, Son ...

Be good ... :D

Call 335 : TOY MONKEY

Hello Son,

Monday, Feb 27

The day before, on Sunday Feb 26, Mom had written

Call 334 : Code 44

First thing the next day on Monday morning, upon reaching the school, guess what greeted your mother?

 Picture taken at 6:50 am.

Mom pointed to Dad, with a big smile, "That's our code now, you know .... Everywhere I am, there You'll be ... I finally figured that out. I just wrote about that yesterday on the blog and now it's right in front of my face. He hears me ..." :D

Yes Son, You definitely hear your mother, she knows that. It's quite obvious. The jigsaw puzzle is coming together.

You're slow la, Ma ... :D

Dad dropped your mother off in school.

Later in the morning, a 6 year old boy came to her office and showed her something, she can't remember what now. Mom was suddenly reminded of what Dad told her last week (Thursday, Feb 23) when she saw the boy.

Yes, Dad had a ZAP inciDAN with the boy. She had forgotten to mention it when she called You during the weekend, and had intended to when Dad first told her about it.

Was that a reminder from You? :D

... to write about that inciDAN, Ma. :D

Anyway ...

On that Thursday morning, this 6 year old boy, X, brought a toy monkey to school.

Dad asked X (they were in the school car at the time),

"What is your monkey's name?"

X answered, "Daniel ..."

Pause ... Did You hear that???

Dad sent an sms to your mother :

"X just showed me his soft toy monkey named Daniel." :D

Your mother was chuckling to herself as she read the sms. Who would name a toy monkey Daniel? Of all the names in the world the boy could have chosen, it had to one that would zap your parents?

Hmmm ...

The next day, on Friday Feb 24, Dad casually asked X about his toy monkey.

Dad said to Mom, " I asked X, where is your monkey Daniel?"

Apparently, X replied, "No ..."

Dad said he was kinda taken back. The day before, X had clearly said the toy's name is Daniel, and now the boy seemed to be denying it.

So, Dad said he asked X again a second time, and the boy answered again, "No ..."

Dad said, he asked a third time.

This time, X replied,

"It's not a monkey Daniel. It's - just - Daniel."

Pause to reflect ...

It's - just - Daniel ...

It's - just - Daniel huh, Son ... :D

Oh Wow ...

By the way, this is the same boy who said, "Go straight turn left."

Call 328 : Valentine's Day

Something to think about ...

Meanwhile, here's a photo of You with a soft toy monkey ...

Picture taken on Sept 9, 2009 at KLIA while waiting for our flight to Paris.

 ... and another not a toy ...

Picture taken on January 28, 2009 at Kuantan beach.

Both photos were taken in the year 2009.

Sigh, even a photo with a monkey, You have two.

That evening, we were having dinner at home.

Law and Order (Special Victims Unit) was on at the material time. Mom was not really watching the show although she was having her dinner sitting on a sofa right in front of the television.

The show soon ended. The credential list appeared, one after another. She saw the name Lynn on the screen and immediately thought, Daniel will be next.

True enough, she spotted a Daniel ...

And then, not expecting anything else, she saw the name Danielle (Justine's second name) ...

And lastly, she saw the name Bryan ...

Oh Wow ...

All our names in one credential list.

Oh boy ... What are the chances?

No chance.

Angel chance.

Was that not her second zap inciDAN after the 4040 zap this morning? There must be two before she takes her zaps seriously. :D

Interesting ...

Let's see ...

Message at dawn :  4040

Everywhere we are, there You'll be ...

Message at end of the day :

Dad, Mom, Danielle (Justine) and Daniel ... <3

As in ...

We'll always be together ?

Together forever?

Both are just - perfect, Son ... :D
