Call 492 : DIVINE APPOINTMENT

Hello Son,

Mom was on your Hello Son blog, about to give You a call ... when Dad called out to say there's a movie on.

She peeked over to take a glance of the television and happened to see, right at that moment, the name DANIEL something appearing on the screen.

What are the chances?

She saved her call, closed the post, before settling herself comfortably on the carpet with cushions ... all ready for a good movie.

She soon learned it was a Steven Seagal movie.

Above The Law.

Within 2 minutes of the movie running, Mom heard herself telling Dad, "So boring ... I don't like Steven Seagal ... he's ugly ..."

Dad reached for the remote and started checking the other channels.

TITANIC was on ... the movie was coming to an end. It was the part where the ship has sank and people were in the water ... Jack and Rose were in the water ...

Yeah, he's about to die ...

Dad said, "There ... your Leonardo ..."

The TITANIC background music was haunting, to say the least ... preparing your mother for the actual song at the end of the movie which ended like, some 10 minutes later.

Mom said, "You see? I had to see DANIEL ... come over to sit down here, and then listen to the TITANIC song ... " You must have whispered to your father to change to the correct station.

Near far wherever You are

You are safe in my heart

And my heart will go on and on

Upon checking TITANIC images, she noticed the name JACK DAWSON appearing several times.

Hmm ...

Today, for some reason, she sees JACK DAWSON in a fresh new light.

SON ...

Your two signs, Ma ... :D

A sad sigh escaped her.

She's always knew this song was -- special -- for her. What with the hit-the-nail-on-the-head lyrics especially. Is that why You called your mother over to the telly? Had it been the beginning of the movie, she would not have watched it -- since it's a 3 hour movie (almost, isn't it?) and she doesn't really have 3 hours to waste in front of the telly.

Instead, it was the last 10 minutes of the movie ... the song would soon come on.

Every night in my dreams

I see You

I feel You

That is how I know You go on

Far across the distance

And spaces between us

You have come to show You go on

Yeah, this song is definitely connecting her to her SON.

If it wasn't meant to be, the boy's name would have been JACK Something-Else.

Hah. So there.

Oh, not only that, but it's Leonardo who's playing that character. If it were say, Steven Seagal who is the main actor, she would not go near the movie. Let alone waste 10 minutes to watch the ending.

Yup, You heard her.

Why?

Oh, You know why ...

He's ugly.

Haha ...

Grin.

Thank You for that Son, a nice TITANIC ZAP on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

On Friday 13th evening ...

Dad was outstation.

After school, Mom drove home.

At the condo, she told the guard she wanted to park the EXORA overnight in the visitors' parking. It was already quite dark and she didn't fancy parking outside (along the road side, beyond the condo security guard house). She would have to walk quite a distance back. Besides, the last time she walked along that path she had encountered an ass-an-aye-kay-ee ... a squirming, live one, for cryin' out loud ... eekie shiver ... and since then, Dad has to pick her up and drop her off right at the lobby.

No more walking along the path for her.

Eeee -- yerrrr ... so geli.

The guard handed her a pass.

Mom had looked at it and smiled.

Of course, it was the end of the day. Her son wanted to remind her that he's still right beside her. We had an amazing day in school that Friday. Mom will post the link to the school blog a bit later when she's put up the photos.

Justine was waiting for her in the Camry.

We were going out for dinner.

Mom told your sister about the number 4 visitor's pass.

One little sign ... Mom noted to herself.

There's another one coming, isn't there?

Be patient la, Ma ...

We decided to have Japanese food that night.

So anyway, when we were done with our food, Justine called for the bill.

Mom glanced at the piece of paper and couldn't help grinning,

"Look ... 88 ... that's a whole load of 4 s ..."

Like, 4444 ...

Her second sign, she smiled happily.

That was Friday evening. It wasn't until the next morning, on Saturday 14th, that she was made to remember that your username on Runescape and some video games You used to play was :

danielphua88

ZAP ZAP ZAP

That Saturday morning, Mom went to school about 9:45 am.

The anti-pests people came over to do follow-up service.

Here check, there check, everywhere check check ...

She left the school about 10:30 am.

Arriving at the condo, Mom told guard once again that she wanted to park inside the condo vicinity. This time the guard handed her this parking pass.

She glanced at the pass and chuckled to herself.

Seriously Daniel ... You're just everywhere ...

124 ...

Decode : 21 ... 4 ...

So anyway, that Saturday mid morning, Mom bumped into Aunty Di at the lobby lift of our block. Aunty Di was with Megan and their maid, and they were walking back from Grandma's place.

Aunty Di spoke to your mother.

Your aunt said that one of her friend's friend jumped off a building the day before.

Pause.

Mom was like, "And ... broke his knees?"

Aunty Di  exclaimed, "No, he died la ... He committed suicide ... "

Oh ...

He apparently found out that he had skin cancer.

Silence.

That C word.

We all know.

We all know ... now.

That C ... um, announcement means you've got yourself an appointment with Christ.

Your aunt continued, "He lives on the 17th floor apparently ... but he didn't jump from that floor ... the windows were locked or something ... he went down to the 14th floor and jumped from there ... Lucky thing he died ... Can you imagine if he didn't die? Omg ..."

Pause ...

From the 14th floor?

Omg ...

Mom burst out, "14th floor? Omg ..."

14 ... the C word ...

They are all the same.

Summons from Heaven.

The angel chop.

1 AM NUMBER 4.

However You want to call it.

They mean the same thing.

Your Father in Heaven is missing you and wants you back.

Period.

Aunty Di continued, "He chose yesterday ... Friday 13 ..."

Mom thought silently ... 13 ...

That's 4 ...

Teng Teng Teng ...

Thank you for Jesus for keeping Daniel safe.

Because of Jesus' resurrection, we will be reunited again someday, Son.

Keep the zaps coming until then.

We love You so very much ...

Oh, by the way ... Aunty D, Justine, Megan and Mom were at the mall in the afternoon.

Justine had to go to DIGI to check on her phone problem.

She picked up a queue ticket and showed it to Mom.

Zap zap zap ...

What are the chances?

Seriously Daniel, everywhere we are, there You'll be ...

Call 491 : MUSIC PIECE

Hello Son,

Wednesday, Sept 11

Mom was walking pass our condo cafe when she stopped abruptly.

Will you still love me tomorrow? (song)

Instinctively, she dug her hand into her shoulder bag to grab her mobile.

Dad called out in a distance, "What's wrong?"

She replied impatiently, "Wait wait ..."

Rummage. Rummage. Rummage...

Got it!

Flipping her cell cover open, she slid her finger against the screen ...

and held her breath.

She saw the time.

The time stared back.

A smile escaped her.

She felt dizzy with happiness. :D

Oh, what was she saying -- she could have leapt for joy ...

8:00 pm ...

Decode : 44

Oh gosh ...

A perfect 8:00 pm???

What are the chances?

Of course ...

but of course, her son would always remember to zap her at the end of the day.

It was weird too how she was at that place, at that time, just to hear that song.

Will you still love me tomorrow?

Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?

You must have whispered to her.

Mom walked over to Dad ... with a happy, knowing smile.

"Will you still love me tomorrow ... You hear it? From the cafe ... See the time? 8 pm ... that's 44 ... And this afternoon, you remember that car in front of us ..."

Dad nodded.

Yes, that car in front of us ...

we were in the car, driving back to Taman Desa from school. Nap hour for the kids at that time. We had stopped right behind a vehicle with the number plate 044 ...

Mom saw it ...

Dad saw it ...

We said nothing.

We were at the red lights. Normally, your mother would be busy snapping away at her eviDANS. However, at that moment, she did nothing ...

and said nothing.

It was too random, she felt.

Too -- disconnected, she thought.

More importantly, she didn't feel that - that - urgent ZAP.

Yeah, that (hand-trembling) ZAP --- where was it?

Yet, she remembers that number plate.

044 ...

Isn't it strange? She does remember staring at that plate the whole time we were behind that car during the red lights. You must have whispered to her.

Remember that number, Ma ... :D

Fast forward ...

It was 7 pm in the evening.

There was one kid left in school. For the past 2 days, on Monday and Tuesday, that same 6 year old girl had followed Mom back to the condo (late pick up). The girl's parents came to pick her up from the condo about 8:30 pm.

So that day, on Wednesday, the girl's mother sent Mom a text at 7:11 pm to say that she was on the way from Puchong, so should she go to school or to the condo?

Dad happened to be in the school at that time.

Mom asked Dad, "Where's Puchong?"

Dad said, "Nearby ... wait in school, easier for the parents ... it's on the way ..."

Mom sent a text back to say, "will wait in school."

That was 7:12 pm.

We closed up, and went downstairs to wait for the parent.

Wait wait wait.

Wait wait wait.

Wait wait wait.

Mom could feel the growing impatience gnawing at her nerves ... and then at one point, she suddenly found herself walking over and getting into the car. The little girl was already inside the car with her school-bag. She was enjoying cartoons on the DVD.

Mom sms-ed to the parent.

"Pls pick up from condo. Need to go."

That was at 7:46 pm.

35 minutes of waiting ...

Of course she didn't know then, that she had to be back at the condo, at that specific place and at that specific time, because somewhere over the rainbow, her son had ... um ... programmed a ZAP for her.

Hmm, how else would she explain it?

Correction, how else could she explain it?

So anyway, we arrived at our condo.

Dad dropped us and went to park the car.

The little girl and Mom waited at the lobby.

Several minutes passed.

The parent soon arrived. She apologised profusely for being late.

It's okay, it's okay, not a problem ... your mother assured her.

They left.

Mom turned and headed to the lift.

It was after she passed the cafe area, when she suddenly found herself stopping abruptly. Dad saw her rummaging through her bag. Her witness.

She strained to listen.

Listen Ma ...

She knows You whispered.

The tune was soft and faint but she heard it clear all right.

Oh gosh ...

You don't say ...

Will you still love me tomorrow?

Awww Son ...

Had we been waiting for the parent in school, we would have definitely missed that zap.

You must have whispered to your mother :

Go back to the condo now, Ma ...

You must have ... because Mom did not even wait to check with the parent if the parent was nearby. It was after all 35 minutes later, since the parent said she was on her way, and according to Dad, Puchong is "nearby." The parent could have been "nearby" for all intents and purposes.

Meant to be.

At home, Mom showed Dad a photo of her zap in school.

Yeah ...

This afternoon, we had music practice. The music students were practising their concert piece. Then came X's turn.

The 6 year old boy started playing a piece, as chosen by your mother, called ... no prizes for guessing ...

Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

Grin.

It was towards the end of the piece when Mom suddenly noticed the teacher's scribble :

bottom right

1234

Pause.

Time stood still.

Somewhere over the rainbow ...

And ... 1234 ???

ZAP ZAP ZAP ..

Choke ...

Sniff ...

Vision blurred ...

Memories flooded back.

Mom hears your singing voice breaking through the silence :

There's only 1 way 2 say,

those 3 words, 4 you-uu

I love you ...

So anyway, that was Wednesday.

Today, your mother was on the internet checking out worksheets and activities for next week's theme :

The Weather Man.

She soon came across a nice school blog.

Soon, she was clicking here, there and everywhere.

Before long, she came to this page :

Time stood still for your mother.

Oh my gosh ...

Seriously?

MASON?

As in MA-SON?

MA and SON?

Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh ...

Before she could get over that, she came across another page that zapped her.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow ...

You know, don't You?

The music piece.

The 1234.

You really do know what's going on ...

Every little thing around us remind us of You, Daniel.

Despite the crazy distance, MA and SON will always be connected, for the bond between mother and son can never be severed. God intended it to be this way.

That's just the way it is.

Gotta go to bed now ...

Keep the zaps coming, Son ... <3

Call 490 : HARRY POTTER

Hello Son,

This afternoon, Dad came to pick Mom up from school.

It was about 2 pm or thereabouts.

Mom got into the car.

Dad said, "Today, X was very friendly ... standing right here (between the two front seats) ... and smiling at me ..."

X was a 2 year old girl. Dad sent her back to her home at 5:30 pm earlier.

Dad continued, "My (left) hand was on my lap ... "

Yeah, your father was driving, with one hand on the wheel, and the other on the lap.

Mom did not expect Dad's next statement.

He said, "X took my hand and put it on the steering wheel ..."

Omg. What???

Dad said, "I was so stunned ..."

"Omg. Seriously?" Mom asked incredulously.

Your father said "Yes, X did that ... my hand was on my lap, she picked up my hand and put it on the wheel ..."

Omg ... Son ...

Omg ... that was what You used to do to Dad and Mom whenever we drove that way ... when we had one hand on the wheel ... You would reach over to pick up the other hand that was on the lap, or gear, as in your mother's case, and place it on the steering wheel. You must have been about 2 years or so.

Mom remembers.

Dad remembers.

Nostalgia.

Mom remarked, "It's just so weird that all the little things he used to do, we remember ... and it comes back as a zap now ... it's just so meant to be ..."

Mom still remembers, Daniel ... that precious moment ... her left hand was on the gear shift ... she was steering with her right ... You were sitting in the front seat beside Mom ... You had leaned over to pick up your mother's hand just to place it on the steering wheel ...

Mom had laughed.

Again, she put her hand down on the gear ...

And again, You picked her hand up to put it back on the wheel ...

How adorable was that.

When we got home later that day, Mom had told Dad about it, and Dad said,

"Yes, he does that to me too ..."

So anyway, that was in the afternoon.

The zap in the car.

You must have whispered to X.

Go on, take Uncle Bryan's hand and put it back on the wheel ...

So anyway ...

Fast forward ...

To 10 pm at home ...

The television was on ...

The story of J K. ROWLING ...

Dad was having a bowl of soup whilst watching the background story of the famous author of Harry Potter.

Mom plonked herself down on the carpet with her dinner, Dad cooked curry chicken with loads of creamy potatoes, and was soon following the story intently.

A welfare mother ... to one of the richest woman in Britain.

Don't You just love stories like that?

It's so - magical.

It wasn't until at one point, in the story, when Rowling was strolling around with her baby in a pram, that she spotted a road sign that said "POTTER ROW" ... Rowling had stopped to look at the sign, and then said, it's a sign ... or something to that effect.

It was then that something struck your mother - sign???

Sign ...

It's your mother's thing ...

And then, it hit her ... oh gosh, but of course ... Harry Potter ... the zigzag sign on the forehead ... the Harry Potter slash, as Mom had called it.

Mom mentioned this when she wrote your story in the Orange Dot blog, 3 years ago.

Her second sign today.

She had to smile.

How well he knows her.

Her son knows ... he really knows ... he really really knows that she would need TWO signs from him to know for sure that the zaps are from him.

X's same hand gesture ... and the Harry Potter sign ...

That sure was a clear : HI MA ...

all the way from heaven.

You keep us smiling, Daniel ...

Stay close, Son ... <3

Call 489 : EXPERIMENT 626

Hello Son,

This evening, Mom was sending some kids home.

The time was 6 pm.

A 6 year old boy requested for cartoons.

Mom leaned forward to turn on the DVD.

A few seconds later, she asked casually, "Which cartoon is this?"

"Stitch ..." came the answer.

Pause ...

Stitch ...

Flashback to your very first surgery.

You were 7 years old.

In hospital.

Aunty J brought Stitch when she came to visit You, before the brain op.

Stitch was with You when the porter came to wheel You away to the surgery floor.

That was like - what - 12 years ago maybe.

Sad sad sigh ...

How could that period of time that happened so long ago still hurts like it happened yesterday?

Her pulse beat dully.

As for her thoughts ... they were far, far away.

There will always be that - void - that will never be filled.

That's okay, she reminded herself firmly.

Let the pain remain ...

Yes, the pain must remain, if that's the only way for her to be close to her son.

That's the way it was meant to be.

So anyway, she dropped the kids off and was heading back to school.

She leaned over to the player to switch over from the DVD to the radio station.

Immediately, she heard the TITANIC lyrics :

Near ... far ... wherever you are ...

Mom glanced at the time on the dashboard.

The time showed 6:26 pm.

You are safe in my heart and ...

My heart will go on and on ...

6:26 pm ...

Her first thoughts were : Six Two Six ... Fourteen ...

14

Her angel number.

I AM NUMBER FOUR.

626.

She remembers repeating 626 in her head several times, quite consciously.

There was just something about that 626 that she just couldn't put her finger on.

You must have been whispering to Mom. She's sure of it now.

626, Ma ... 626 ...

Then suddenly ... quite suddenly ... she experienced a bolt of enlightenment that left her gaping at the 626.

Omg ...

You don't say ...

Seriously ....

Omg ...

She couldn't believe it ...

What are the chances?

626 ...

But of course ...

Experiment 626 ...

How is this possible?

Why, that's Stitch ...

Stitch is Experiment 626 ...

Mom did not hear this word / number 626 mentioned at all in the car while the cartoon was on. So how could she have remembered the connection? There was no way she could have connected the time 6:26 pm on the dashboard to the Experiment 626 in Lilo & Stitch.

No way ... not unless You were whispering to her.

Gosh Daniel ... You're really right beside Mom all the time, aren't You?

You can really read your mother's mind, can't You?

I know what you're thinking, Ma ...

Oh my gosh ... it's unbelievable.

The TITANIC song ended.

Mom was not really listening to the next song, as she was still quite overwhelmed with the 626 zap. However, it was within minutes, when she heard the lines :

You'll be in my heart (TARZAN) ...

Pause ...

Gosh Son ...

Two songs ... similar message ...

You are safe in my heart ...

and You'll be in my heart ...

to make sure Mom knows without any doubt that that 626 zap was from You.

Two ...

Daily ... You remind Mom, Son ...

Please continue to remind her, okay ... again and again ... that You're near.

Always okay, Son ...

We love You so very much ... <3
