Call 413 : AND CUT

Hello Son,

Monday, October 1

Dad was outstation.

Justine and Mom were having dinner before the television. There were no good shows on the telly. So Mom went to the open partition shelf cupboard ... what a mouth full ... (You know which one Mom's referring to  right) ... to check out the DVDs that we have that we have not seen, and came across one that caught her eyes ... quite, quite instantly ...

Letters To God.

Pause ...

Letters To God ...

Like ... Calls to God?

Now why have we not watch this movie? She would definitely be able to relate to this movie, since she's constantly calling God ... and bugging God ... to allow her to speak to her Son, in her case. God has human emotions, she believes, since we are all made in the image of God ... if we have emotions, God has them too ...

Does He, Daniel?

Oh, what is she saying ...

Of course He does. How else could He love us so unconditionally if not?If at first He says NO, pester and pester again ... :D

Anyway, now that she's stumbled upon that DVD, she remembers Dad buying it but cannot remember why we have put it aside and have not watched it ...

Mom said, "There's Letters To God ... Shall we put this on?"

Justine replied lazily, "Yeah okay ..."

And so we put it on ...

It is about a young boy, named Tyler, who has brain cancer ... he was 8 year old ... of course, of all the illness that he could have had, it had to be the same one that You had ... You were 7 years old ... close enough?

Mom watched ... without any emotion ...

Then came the character Daniels ...

Pause ...

Mom heard it ... Justine heard it ...

Daniel?

What???

You're kidding right? Gosh, a million names the scriptwriters could have chosen, and they chose this name?

Brady McDaniels, the temporary postman ... the local postman went on an extended vacation and McDaniels was hired to replace him temporarily ...

Yes, yes ... Mom sees the transition ... that familiar interception or intervention, if you want to call it ...

Like ...

Hello ... You --- You move aside ...

And You --- You come in ...

That's how God works ...

Yeah, that's what God does when He's about to ... to ... orchestrate ... a masterpiece of some sort. Many, many times, she's seen this ... how God puts all the right people in place for her ... to ... to ... get through a scene ... at times, when she knows she no longer has the energy to carry on the part before her, she would hear Him holler,

"And CUT ... " :D

You could say God's like the director ... and we are only His actors ... His players taking only but a small role in His BIG, BIG PLAN ...

You know the PLAN now, don't You?

The Master Plan ???

Which brings Mom to this song ... in JOSEPH, KING OF DREAMS ...

You remember this cartoon movie, don't You?

You've got to give a little more than you take

You've got to leave a little more than was here

You may be prideful of the strides you will make

But keep one thing clear

You're just a player in a much bigger plan

And still you have to give it all that you can

The very measure of your soul is at stake,

You've got to give a little more than you take

She noticed the --- style ... God's style ...

So anyway ... where were we?

The movie ... Letters To God ...

As Mom was saying, she watched the movie without a care in the world.

She did not feel sad or tearful, or ... or ... anything ... for that matter ...

At first ...

Scene after scene, You would have seen your mother sitting on the sofa, witnessing the story enfold, without any expression ... she sat there like a cold stone ... a cold tomb stone, she might add ... some parts stirring memories of what You and your family had gone through ... and others, she watched with no emotion whatsoever.

Yeah, she could relate ... of course she could relate ... each dark moment was so HUGE at the time, so darn HUGE that we could not see past it, not over it, not under it, and definitely not through it ... so totally solid and impenetrable those dark moments were ... but as time went on, (like some 32 months later at the time of this call) she has learned to see and classify the experience as a tiny dot of a mustard seed against a much bigger plan that God has ...

So there ...

You must be whispering to Mom now and then to comfort her. All your daily zaps are evident that You are right beside her. Knowing that You are well and happy and very much alive and kickin' with JESUS and MAMA MARY in Heaven (Yes, your zaps tell a lot :D), fuels your mother with the strength and energy to ...

GO ON ...

and GET ON ...

and MOVE ON ... always with the sure knowledge that You are by her side.

GOD's PLAN is good, Ma ... All good ... :D

Pause ...

Okay Son, if You say so ... You would know ...

Oh, she's sure the PLAN is good and flawless ...

It's God's Plan, for Heaven's sakes ... and while we are at this, let's just make one thing clear :

God does not make mistakes ... remember that ...

Grimace ...

So anyway, at one point, during the movie, Justine left to take as a shower ... You must have whispered to her to leave the room, so your mother could be alone for the following scene that would tear her down and break her down and shatter her to her very soul.

Aiyoh Ma, you're so dramatic ...

It was at the bedroom scene when the Tyler boy said to his mother,

"God picked You to be my mother ..."

That line did it for her.

She's not sure now if those were the EXACT words ... but it was something to that effect.

Hearing those words, your mother instantly broke down, bawled her eyes out, covering her sobs and crying into the cushion in an attempt not to make a sound ... and remember feeling very grateful that she was quite alone at the time ... your sister having taken off earlier ... and the maid was in her room. Dad was outstation.

Was she really alone?

Oh, physically maybe ...

Spiritually, never ...

Anddddd CUT !!!
