Call 542 : OPTION 3

Hello Son,

Wednesday, June 25

Mom's birthday. :D

Exactly one week before Mom's birthday, Wednesday 18th, Justine brought Mom to the hair salon. Your sister said, there is good feedback from satisfied customers about this Salon 76.

"Let's go check it out," suggested Justine.

Okay ...

As You know, Mom does not have a particular hair place that she goes to.

And so your mother just went along ... to check the place out.

At the salon ...

We were ushered to a small waiting area. A girl approached Justine and asked her to fill up her particulars for a membership card of some kind.

"Only one card?" Mom remembers the girl asking your sister.

Justine replied, "Yes."

Mom watched your sister filling up the form.

Ten minutes would have passed by before a guy stylist came to Mom and politely asked her to go to her seat.

Mom obliged.

At her seat, she saw the reflection of the guy in the mirror in front of her and kinda stared momentarily.

Mom said, "You look familiar ..."

She turned to look at his name tag, and asked at the same time, "What's your name?"

The guy told her his name.

Hmmm.

No, doesn't ring a bell.

Not familiar at all that name.

Oh well.

The guy then left her for a minute to get God knows what, came back and said, "Alpha Kidz ..."

Mom gave a chuckle, "You're a parent?"

He gave the name of his son.

A former student.

Oh, of course. Yes yes, now she remembers. He's the father of one of her former students.

So anyway, not having had treatment for a long time, Mom asked about the treatment options. She would cut her hair, and then do some kind of treatment, she told him.

The guy told her about the 3 options for hair treatment.

Option 1 : bla bla bla

Option 2 : bla bla bla

Option 3 : bla bla bla ... Mom only remembers him saying that this Option 3 is the most expensive. It came with some kind of advanced technology, which he explained, but which she didn't quite get. Never mind though, she wasn't gonna choose that Option 3 anyway.

No, she was so not gonna pick this option number 3.

Especially when it cost RM250. She's not crazy.

She found herself asking, about the member's card.

You must have whispered to Mom at that point:

Ask about the member's card, Ma ...

Okay, so Mom obviously heard that. :D

"What do members get?" Mom asked, thinking there must be some kind of discount.

The guy replied, "Oh, for members, they get free treatment on their birthday month."

Pause.

Huh?

Say what?

FREE - treatment - on - their - birthday - month?

Mom responded rather quickly, "Hey, my birthday is this month ... next Wednesday."

The guy reacted, gave a smile, and said, "Oh, then you get a free treatment!"

Just like that?

He didn't even check her ID. She could have been lying.

Mom asked slowly, "Which treatment do we get?"

FREE would probably means the cheapest treatment, Mom thought.

The guy said, "The best of course. Number 3 ..."

Omg really???

She was getting the BEST treatment for FREE???

Oh gosh. That was truly a birthday treat from her son, Mom knew instantly.

No catch???

None.

Just FREE.

By the way Daniel, your pink FREE tee shirt is still hanging in Mom's wardrobe, if You must know.

Oh, and on top of that, for coming in pairs, we got another 20% off the total bill. The intensive hair treatment (or whatever they call it) which cost RM250 was absolutely FREE for Mom. Can You believe that? Somebody pinch her.

Was that not a birthday treat for her?

It sure was.

Happy Birthday, Ma ...

Grin.

Mom couldn't stop talking about it when she left the salon.

Omg, she couldn't believe it. It was so unexpected.

Mom took out her cell to make a quick note, and as she did, she saw the scribble she jotted down earlier that day.

1:40pm : say nothing

She had to smile.

Unbelievable.

Shaking her head in a happy daze, she chose to embrace that precious moment and the warmth of the sun, as she and your sister left the salon to walk over to the mall.

Omg ...

How do You do it?

That SAY NOTHING song was playing on the radio in the car, when Mom hopped in. Dad was driving then. The immediate time on the dashboard had showed 1:40 pm.

1:40 pm

14

Her angel number.

Her heartfelt message to her beloved son somewhere over the rainbow.

He takes her words right out of her mouth.

It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart

Without saying a word, You can light up the dark

Try as I may, I can never explain

What I hear, when You don't say a thing ...

Thank you, Son, for the birthday treat. :D

That was super awesome.

So anyway, on Wednesday 25th ...

Here are some photos taken at home.

Dad prepared dinner. :D Butter crabs with spaghetti. Water cress soup.

Justine bought that SpongeBob suit for Baby Dylan.

Aunty C is busy taking photos and sending to Aunty J in the USA.

We miss You very much, Daniel ...

We remember how You used to eat your crabs ...

Messily ... :D

Dad's salad with crunchy bacon strips ...

Tonight, we are not counting calories ...

4 is enough for Mom.

Frozen.

Eeee -- yahhh!!! :D   Have a slice with us, Daniel. :D

Will tell You about the Maleficient Zap in a bit.

Need to get ready to pick up your uncle at the mall and take him to dinner.

Call 541 : TIGER PAINTING

Hello Son,

Saturday, June 28

Saturday 28th was our Parents - Teachers Conference Day.

In short, Parents' Day.

Here is the link to our school blog. :D

(video)

After the day was over, Aunty Di sent Mom a text saying :

Good job today. Big success.

Mom (at home at the time) was all smiles, as You would have seen.

Yes, she felt it too. The day went really well.

The kids were incredibly good.

Super amazing. :D

She did try to recall though if she had any ZAPs ... but for the life of her couldn't think of any ZAP moment, in school that morning.

Very strange, she had thought.

A big day like that, Daniel would have sent her a zap to remind her that he was right beside her. She remembered though, that Dad told her in the car, after the event, that one of the former boys, got number 12 in his class test.

Mom had frowned and snorted, "Number 12? Hey, that boy should be getting top 3. What happened to him?"

Dad hesitated, before replying, "Number 12 ... 12 ???"

Ohhh ...

Okay ...

Secret code : 21

That's You ...:D

That's only ONE sign, her brains told her.

Justine offered, "There was a dad and his daughter wearing bright ORANGE ... I took a picture ..."

Hmmm ...

Oh, alright ...

Two bright orange tee shirts, and one 21.

Still, that didn't quite feel like a ZAP from heaven, your mother had thought inwardly.

Strange.

Always ... always ... Always always always, You would send your mother a sign that You were near. So what happened la, that morning?

That number 12?

And the orange tees?

Those were it???

Grimace.

Anyway ...

Yes, the Parents' Day had gone really well.

So Mom sent a text to the family and said :

Let's go for dinner to celebrate!

Later that evening, your entire family, Dad, Mom, Justine, Grandma, your two aunties, Megan and Baby Dylan, and their father, went to the mall.

At the mall, Aunty Di was walking beside Mom.

After our, OMG, did you see Megan? She was so cute ... she did this ... and she did that ... etc etc etc ... and the food, OMG, they were all gone ... yes, yes, after all the shrieks and high-pitched excited babble, Aunty Di asked,

"Have you heard of this cartoon called DANIEL, the Tiger?"

Mom said, "No ..."

Aunty Di said, "I saw it this afternoon ... first time ... it's about this Tiger and his name is Daniel ..."

Silence.

Tiger ...

Tiger???

"The tiger's name is Daniel?" Mom repeated, in disbelief.

Omg ... she thought slowly.

Omg ... she stopped in her tracks.

Omg ... one hand flew up to cup her mouth.

Omg, seriously ???

Omg, You have so gotta be kiddin' her.

Daniel, the Tiger???

Mom said excitedly, "Omg, the TIGER wall ... we had a whole wall filled with tigers today ..."

Our Art Gallery.

The children's paintings.

Let's enlarge it a little ...

Aunty Di chuckled.

Oh my ...

You must have whispered to your aunty Di : Tell Mom about the cartoon, Aunty D.

Oh wow, Son, You were definitely there with Mom that morning.

How could she have doubt that?

We were supposed to have 23 tigers on the wall. One kid was absent on the art day, so only 22 paintings were up. That day, on the morning of Parents' Day, one of the students had to leave (shifted), and so, strictly speaking, there should only be 21 tigers on the wall. We removed his painting later, after the event was over.

Omg ...

21 tigers ...

Truly Daniel ...

Everywhere we are, there You'll be ...

It was only after Aunty Di told Mom about the tiger cartoon, that she truly felt the ZAP ZAP ZAP.

Slow Ma, slow ...

You really, really, really ... are with Mom, aren't You, Son?

All the time, Mom feels your presence.

It's incredible.

Nobody's gonna understand this ...

and that's okay ... because it's not for anybody to understand anyway ...

GOD is truly good to us. <3

Gonna sort out some photos now ... and talk to You in a bit, Son.

Keep the zaps coming ...

Call 540 : 53rd MONTH

Hello Son,

Today is your 53rd month with JESUS and MARY somewhere over the rainbow.

We miss You more than we know how to describe.

Everywhere we are, there You'll be ...

Here's the family celebrating Dad and Mom's 22nd wedding anniversary

at a Thai restaurant.

Call 539 : BLENDED ZAPS

Hello Son,

Sunday, June 15

Baby Dylan's baptism was at 11:45 am on Sunday morning.

At Holy Rosary Church.

Mom has not been there for a long, long time.

Your farewell (not funeral) mass before You departed for God's Kingdom, was there - at HRC.

Mom was dreading the moment when she had to go back to that church.

She gave her excuses to Grandma for the past one week or so that she wouldn't be attending.

First she said, Dad and her would be away ... and then, a few days later, she said, she and Dad would be away ... and later after that, she went back to, Dad and her would be away ...

All very, very bad excuses.

So, are You surprised that she ended up there that Sunday morning?

Dad, Justine and Mom arrived shortly before 11:45 am.

Aunty D and family and Grandma were already in church.

There were only 2 babies for baptism that day.

Mom sat down with Dad, a few rows before the altar.

The priest soon came in, with a small procession of the 2 babies' families.

Mom and Justine were not with the procession. We were on the pews.

When Dad walked in (following the small procession), and whispered, "Guess what's the other baby's name?"

????

Mom held her breath, and thought ...

Nah, it can't be ...

Dad said, "Daniel ..."

Omg ...

Her vision blurred immediately.

Tears that had threatened to pour since she'd bravely held them in when she came into the church, streamed freely down her cheeks. She covered her face.

Omg ...

Omg Son ... You're really here, aren't You?

You're with us on Dylan's baptism ...

But of course, You would be.

Dad said, "The priest pronounced Dylan as Daniel, just now ... Your mother had to correct him ..."

Omg ... Seriously?

Which means the Priest mentioned DANIEL, your name, TWICE. First, he wrongly pronounced Dylan as DANIEL, and second, the other baby's name is DANIEL.

A billion and one names that could have been the other baby's name, and he had to have YOUR name??? Oh Lord.

ZAP ZAP ZAP.

After the baptism, we took some photos.

It was time to go. We walked to the car.

In the car, Dad started the engine.

Omg ...

Would You believe it but TITANIC was on the radio. Mom's eyes immediately shot to the dashboard to check the time.

It was 12:33 pm.

Mom said, with her eyes glued to the time,

"Omg, Titanic ... 12:33 going on 12:34 pm ..."

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

There's only 1 way, 2 say,

those 3 words , 4 You --uuuu ...

I Love You ...

Mom instantly heard the way You used to sing this song, as You strum on your guitar.

She pondered at the time 12:33 pm and smiled.

Yeah, 21 with the 33.

Boy, has she got a story to tell about the 33 ... but that would have to wait.

Your family members had lunch together at the mall.

During lunch, Aunty C said that Justine and herself were going for X-Men, and asked if Dad and Mom wanted to go for a movie too after lunch? Justine commented that X-Men is not for Mom ... for some reason ... all her own reasons, might Mom add ... so, Aunty C suggested that your parents go for BLENDED.

"Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore," said your aunt C.

Dad and Mom decided to go -- with the flow --- Blended it is.

Aunty C booked us on the 4th row from the screen.

Little did Mom know that she would be zapped from one scene to another during the movie.

Until at one point, when "Somewhere over the Rainbow" was mentioned, Mom whispered to Dad, "I'm sure Son must have whispered to the scriptwriter ..."

Either that, or the scriptwriter read your Hello Son blog.

Haha.

Her list of zaps throughout the movie from beginning to end :

Madison (Ma and Son) (Right from the beginning of the movie, the connection begins)

Cancer

Jersey No. 4 (your angel number)

Jersey No. 23 (your birthday year 1994)

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Karate Kid (Daniel-son)

"My mom is sitting there ..." (Oh, Mom so understands that line ...)

4th family blended experience reunion (4th???)

"Good one, Mom ..."

"Mom's sleeping there ..."

angel

"I brought some for your mom ..."

Say Hello (time was 5:52 pm) (that's 21) (say HELLO to 21)

The leading actress sings Somewhere over the Rainbow.

car number plate 645 (15) (Forever 15)

"I don't want her to disappear ..." (at 3:23 pm) (secret code : 44)

baseball home run (with the dad running along and giving directions to the son during the baseball game.) (Omg, that was exactly what mom did during your Sports Day when You were in Primary 6. 4 X 100m event. That morning in the school field, You pointed to your head, and mouthed the word HEADACHE. Your friends were around. You didn't look yourself. The tumor had re-visited and we were not aware but right then, Mom had a bad chill. Do You want to stop? Can You still run? asked Mom. You didn't want to let your team down, and so when the event was called, You stepped up. Mom ran alongside You (out of the track), shouting words of encouragement. At one point, You ran out of the oval lines, because your vision would have blurred ... and Mom had to shout at the top of her voice, to get your attention. You heard, You ran back into the line, and continued running -- Your team won the GOLD medal despite the obvious delay. That evening, You were very sick, and the next day You were admitted to the hospital. The dot had come back ... Your track shoes from that day are still in the box -- they have not been cleaned since that day. Dad found the shoe box whilst cleaning out the store room during the school break. Gawd Son, how You could still want to run despite all the terrible pain You must have been feeling at that time?)

hot air balloon (Up) (This was the only and last movie Mom and You watched together)

After the movie ended, Mom was still very overwhelmed. Dad and Mom sat there just watching the credentials. She caught the signs and pointed to Dad :

DAN

DAN

DANIEL

DANIEL

Two times DAN and two times DANIEL ... and then ...

MASON (Ma and Son ... in the beginning of the movie, and at the end. Omg, would You look at the connection?)

All incidents are connected (All inciDANS truly are connected ... are they not?)

Oh gosh, Daniel ...

Truly, everywhere we are, there You'll be ... <3
