Call 453 : FISH CALL

Hello Son,

It's a Saturday today ... and Mom's free like a bird.

Something awesome happened this morning ...

Mom knows it's You. That's why she hurried to the computer just as soon as she got home.

You're waiting for her call, she knows.

A mother's intuition.

All the signs are there.

Her son has made contact. It's strange that You know when Mom has the time to make her long distance calls.

Before she tells You about the zaps this morning, she must show You this drawing first.

This simple drawing of a fish was done by one of the 5 year old students some 3 weeks back during writing class. When Mom first saw it, she had stopped abruptly at his side and stared at the picture.

Omg ...

The boy had held up his book to show her and was excitedly saying, "This is a fish, Teacher Lynn ... I'm drawing an aquarium ..."

Mom had a big smile on her face, as she took her cellphone to snap a photo.

You always have a way to remind your mother that You are near.

Do You see what your mother sees / saw?

Call ...

... which Mom immediately interpreted as "Call Me ..."

Mom has since downloaded this CALL ME photo onto her desktop and has ... uh, done practically nothing about it. Now isn't it strange that she has kept this photo? You know what would happen next, don't You?

Next, as in this morning ...

Things that happen, are all planned, she sees that now ...

This morning, about 7:30 am, Mom was supposed to drop the maid at the school for the maid to do her weekly cleaning. The maid was in fact, already out of the door, waiting for Mom, outside our home.

For some reason, which would be apparent later, Mom called the maid in and said, "Where's the farm animals set?"

We will be doing Farm Animals in school next week.

That set should be somewhere in the big cupboard in the guest room, along with your old toys and cars. It's a Saturday today. Mom need not have asked the maid to look for the set like - now (right then) - there's always plenty of time to get it later or even tomorrow on Sunday.

Ah, a calculated delay ... take note of that ... of course Mom did not know this at the time. The maid went into the guest room, and shortly after came up with a paper bag ... that was filled with barnyard animals.

Good good ... they're all here ...

With that, we went out of the condo, and walked to the car that was parked outside the guard house.

Mom started the engine, reversed the car, and drove away from the spot.

The radio was on.

Mom switched on to her station.

LEAN ON ME ... was on.

Your mother frowned to herself ...

Hey, isn't this the CALL ME song?

Yes, yes ... it definitely is ...

There's a long repeat of Just Call Me .. when you need a friend ... Call Me ...

She glanced at the time on the dashboard ...

7:58 am ...

Mentally, she made her count ...

Seven five, that's 12 ... is that a  21?

Oh, she's trying too hard ... twelve eight ... that's twenty ...

Pause ...

Twenty?

That's so not a zap ...

... but it couldn't be ... this CALL ME song is meant for her ... it's definitely for her, she knows it, she could feel it ... but twenty???

The next thing she knew, she saw 8 turning to 9 ...

and she must confess here, Daniel, your mother let out a happy laugh ...

Hehehehe ...

You really can read your mother's thoughts, can't You?

It's just not the same when the numbers are not right, You understand that right?

Here la Ma, your 21 ... :D

So with that, she decoded happily, "That's 21 ..." before whispering softly to herself, "Thanks, Son ... that's just perfect ..."

She reached school.

Usually, Mom would just drop Maid R in school, and drive off.

Today, she parked the car.

Yup, she parked the car today.

She went into the school ... didn't do anything there ... just kinda gave some instructions, unnecessary instructions, she must add, to the maid for some cleaning works to be done.

Then, she went to the car, and drove back.

On hindsight ... that was strange on her part ... of course she didn't know it then, but do You see what's happened there? Another calculated delay ...

Two times today ...

She was on Jalan Klang Lama, heading straight towards the right turning into Taman Desa, when she slowed down before a bright yellow car.

Gasp.

Omg ...

Are You kidding her ?

2121 ???

Twenty-one, two times???

It's Me, Ma ... I'm right here ... :D

Mom trailed the yellow car all the way along Jalan Desa Utama, the route that takes her home. You know, since she got her new cellphone, she has missed several zap photos because by the time she get to the camera icon, her zap sign would be lost.

Today, she had plenty of time to take a photo of her eviDANS. The lights had turned red, giving her ample time to take that photo.

Ah, RED ...

Truly, everywhere your mother is, there You'll be ...

 Trailing behind ...  the 2121 ...

until it turned to the right at this point.

You will not believe this ... it's just too amazing ... but a few seconds later ... not even a minute had passed, when a familiar tune came on the radio.

Her ears pricked up.

Did You whisper to your mother at that point?

Omg ... WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW?

Moms eyes shot to the time on the dashboard.

8:44 am ...

Gasp ...

WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW?

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

Decode : 214 ...

All her angel numbers.

21 and 24 ... your date of birth and departure.

No matter how You look at it, it can only be YOU YOU YOU.

Nobody, nobody but You... :D

She had reached the condo. Driving into an empty bay outside the guard house, she leaned back into her seat, and allowed the song to fill up her senses.

Daniel Daniel Daniel ... What are You doing today, Son? Mom's gonna call You in a bit. We miss You so much, Daniel ...

Will you still love me when I'm botak?

Mom remembers your sms to Aunty D, with a sad and heavy heart. The dullness in her heart will forever be there.

Forever.

It's not likely to be erased with time ...

and that's okay.

Let the pain remain, if that's the only way to be close to You again.

Aiyoh Ma ... tsk tsk tsk ...

Honestly Son, how You can zap Mom, again and again, all the way from heaven ... just amazes her. Truly ... there has not been a day, since You left us, that Mom does not feel your presence.

Every day, You remind her, every single day ... You remind her, that You're near.

God's plan is good. The bond between Mother and Son is meant to be unbreakable. The link is forever. Our spirits are joined together.

That's a good plan ... don't You think? Please tell Jesus Mom said so.

In fact, yesterday evening, Dad, Mom and Justine were at this vegetarian restaurant nearby the condo. That was your sister's first time there. After scrolling through her WhatsApp messages, Mom commented to Dad's sms to Aunty D.

About her bathtub ...

Aunty D is doing some renovations at the moment, and has ordered modern bathroom stuffs, and Dad said he saw her old bathtub in the truck that had come to take away the rubbish.

Dad said, "Nowadays, people don't want bathtubs ..."

Mom thought about that before replying, "Without the bathtub, I wouldn't have been able to bathe him ... Remember, he would just soak in the tub for a while ..." then she got carried away and continued as she remembered clearly those end of the days ...

"I'm glad the nurses helped me to wash his hair (it was a Thursday, Mom remembers) ... and gave him a water bath ... (that was a week before You left us) ... he really liked that ... that water bath was good ..."

That water bath Mom mentioned was the water bath (not a sponge bath) that You received on the hospital bed. There were 4 nurses fussing over You at the time. It was like having a spa on the bed. :D

Suddenly, Mom sat up right, as she pointed to the ceiling urgently.

"Listen, listen ..."

Omg ...

"Did you hear that? Rainbow ... Heard that? Somewhere Over The Rainbow ..."

Omg ...

Dad heard it.

Justine heard it.

We all heard it.

It was the perfect moment for your family.

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW ... had come on the overhead speakers.

The time was 7:34 pm.

Decode : 14

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

Mom said with a smile, "He knows we're talking about him ..."

Then, Mom pointed to the wall at the back of the eatery.

The sign says :

meat free zone

which Mom clearly saw as :

meat  free  zone

Free ...

Oh, You were so with us yesterday evening for dinner ...

Have to go now ... Talk to You in a bit, Son ...

Keep the zaps coming ...

We love You ... <3

Call 452 : ZAP MESSAGE

Hello Son,

Sunday, March 3

This morning, we went for church.

The 11:30 am mass.

Justine drove your parents to church today. How nice ...

Anyway ...

When mass was over, we were walking back to the car, when Mom noticed a white car with the number plate 21 (yup, only two numbers), which was parked two cars behind ours.

Smile ...

No, she didn't take a photo. There were just too many people around ... but You know which car, she's talking about, right?

The one with the number 21 ...

We got into the car. Your sister turned on the ignition.

Mom instantly saw the time that appeared on the dashboard.

12:34 pm.

She pointed with a big grin, to Dad and Justine, before singing quietly to herself ...

There's only 1 way, 2 say, those 3 words, 4 you-uuu ...

I love you ...

Mom hears your voice ... and remembers your finger movements ...

Nostalgia ...

In the car, Mom observed carefully ... and in awe ... how do You do it?

Always, the zap is so perfect. Get the attention first, then zap.

She sees the number 21 ...

(Gosh ... Fall For You came on the telly at this moment ... 7:50 pm)

(Decode : 21)

(Omg ...)

... then, 1234 ... the zap message ...

What can your mother say?

All You, nobody, nobody but You ... :D

It's awesome ...

Call 451 : WRONG SONG

Hello Son,

Sunday, February 24

This morning, Dad and Mom went to your garden.

Your 21st had just passed on Thursday, with lots of awesome zaps for Mom. :D

See Call 448 : 37th Month

We didn't have time to go to the garden then, since it was a school day. So, we decided to go on Sunday. Justine had to attend her orientation in school that morning. We were in the car, driving out of the condo, heading towards the university.

Justine said, "Hey, this is the song I sang for Aunty Diana ..." (at her wedding)

Mom pumped up the volume ... only to hear Faith Hill's THERE YOU'LL BE ...

Gasp ...

Moms eyes shot to the dashboard. It was 8:26 am.

Decode : 4444

Loud enough?

That was surely a loud holler all the way from heaven.

Hi Ma ... I'm right here ... :D

All her angel numbers. How could that not bring on a smile? You know, don't You, You know, that we would be going to your garden this morning.

Justine was like, "Oh, wrong song ... I heard wrongly ..."

Mom replied insistently, "No, no, it's the right song ... you heard right ... I wouldn't have increased the volume if you didn't say that ... He must have whispered to you ... There You'll Be ..."

What are the chances?

How perfect was the moment, Mom thought in wonderment.

Mom said to Dad, "He knows we're going to his garden ... He knows ... I'm telling You, he knows ... "

Dad nodded in agreement.

Your family listened quietly to Faith Hill, each of us in our own thoughts, until we reached a coffee shop, nearby the university. The song ended just as Dad dropped us at the coffee shop, before he went to park the car. It was still early, and Dad said Justine should take some breakfast before going to school.

Mom and Justine got out of the car, and walked towards to the eatery.

Mom said, "You see? From the condo to this place, there was only one song on the radio that we heard, and it had to be this one ..."

Omg ...

Justine was like, "Yeahhh ..."

Everywhere we are, there You'll be ...

That's the message we put in the papers on your 21st last month in January (your 3rd year anniversary). Of course we felt the zap connection. It was almost as if You were communicating with your family.

Reminding us ...

Always reminding us ... that You're near ... :D

Call 447 : TOILET SEAT

Hello Son,                                                (continue from Call 446)

Monday, February 11

Mom watched Baby Megan from a short distance, sipping her coffee beside a "stand-bar" that was outside the Candylicious store.

Sip sip sip ...

Her eyes darted towards the styrofoam tray the coffee came in.

She felt her breath caught in her throat.

Omg ...

Only a few minutes ago, she had heard SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW ... at her angel time on top of that ... and now ...

... now, her second sign has come ...

How absolutely wonderful ...

FREE ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

See yourself posing with your PSP and in your FREE pink tee shirt on the left panel of the blog. Yes, FREE ... Whatever made Mom buy that tee shirt then, she will never remember. How a simple word on a tee shirt could become so significantly important to your mother, after You left us, is hard to conceive.

Nevertheless, no explanation is required.

The heart knows.

Mom packed the FREE tray into her suitcase, and brought it home. Sure, of course, she has seen many FREE words here and there before, all the time, but this one brought with it a certain -- emotion.

Oh, and it was right after she heard SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW too, for cryin' out loud ...

If that was not a clear zap, was is? :D

Tuesday, February 12

We will be going back home the following day.

Today, the rest of the family wanted to go to the zoo.

Uncle C, Aunty D, Aunty C, Justine, Grandma and Baby Megan.

Mom was not that keen on the zoo. So she and Dad decided to just go - ronda-ronda around town. We took a bus, observed its route before deciding to get down at Bugis. Dad said, we could pop by a friend's shop to say hi. He wasn't sure if the shop would be opened though, since it was still the 3rd day of CNY ...

Anyway ...

We passed a mall on the way ... went in for a bit ... to look see ...

At the ground floor, Dad pointed out, "Your DOT ..."

Smile ...

Deep in her heart, she knew it wasn't that accurate ... her DOT should be orange ... not black and brown ... still, it was heart-warming to see Dad um, collecting eviDANS and making the connection.

Out of the mall, we were walking through the street, when Mom stopped in her tracks.

Gosh ...

Seriously?

Mom pointed, exclaiming, "24 and DOTs ... What are the chances?"

24 being your birth date ...

That was probably a :

I'm right beside you, Ma ... :D

Everywhere we are, there You'll be ...

We felt your presence, Daniel ... You were/are with us, we know ... :D

Arriving at the friend's shop, we found the shutters half down.

Dad called out, hello hello ...

The friend came out, looking very surprised. She was not supposed to be there, she said, and had come in just to prepare the shop for the following day. We talked for a bit, and then Dad and Mom left.

Walking further down the street, we came to another mall.

Of course, we went inside. It's a mall ...

We happened to pass a nice cozy eatery that beckoned us to go in.

So we did.

Ooh, the noodles were super delicious.

After our late lunch, we browsed around the mall.

At one point, Dad pointed :

Smile ...

No, not at the 30% ...

Rather, at the Charles Daniel ... :D

Truly, everywhere we are, there You'll be ...

Isn't it weird that Mom named You, Daniel? Even before she had her first child, Mom had told Dad she would have a Justine and a Daniel. Either those names, or Justin and Danielle.

It was that easy. All had been pre-planned.

Had Mom named You say, Theophilus or ... Amaziah ... hah ... it would have been really difficult for You to zap her now, wouldn't You say? :D

All meant to be.

God's master plan.

We are just small insignificant players in his BIG plan.

So anyway, we left the mall a while later ... We didn't buy anything and we certainly did -- not -- find -- what we were looking for ... Oh, by the way, did Mom mention that we were actually out looking for a nice toilet seat?

Yup, toilet seat ...

Oh You know the kind ... like Grandma's ... the nice sandy-looking seashells one ... somebody in the family cracked Uncle S's toilet seat ... no one's owning up, by the way, so we think maybe it's Baby Megan ... tsk tsk tsk ... anyway, that's why we have to get a replacement that day before we go home the following day ...

Yeah yeah, that was the main reason why we had to go into town that day ... which worked out well because otherwise we would have to go to the zoo ... and Mom wasn't really in the mood to visit wild animals or learn about their sounds and habitats during her holiday time. :D

We were strolling around, heading towards the bus station, when we saw this red building.

Smile ...

Plenty of DOTS in Singapore, huh?

You're practically strolling beside us, Son ... :D

So anyway, to cut a really long winded story short, we could not find the fancy toilet seat. It didn't help that most of the shops that sold house items were closed for the festive period. Dad had called up Uncle S upon our return home, to inform him of his toilet seat, and how sorry we are, and that we would get a replacement back in KL. Uncle S was really nice about it ...

At the time of writing this entry (Sunday, March 3), it must be mentioned that Grandma has bought the replacement for Uncle S. Mom bought two for our home. It turns out that one of our parents own a shop selling bathroom and kitchen items. How convenient. She would not have known this except that, the boy's mother had asked, the week we came back from the CNY break, whether we could drop her son at her shop as she was too busy to pick him up that day. Mom was familiar with the row of shops that the parent was describing, and when Mom asked which shop was hers ...

The parent replied, "the one selling bathroom things ..."

Would You just look at that?

Wednesday, February 13

We went to the airport early the next morning.

We arrived in KLIA at noon.

Pause to reflect ...

Mom will always have mixed feelings when she's in KLIA. Our last trip together in September 2009.

Everything was as normal as normal could be.

We were waiting for the aero-trains.

As the train was approaching, Mom found herself walking straight to this door.

She stopped.

Gasp ...

Omg ...

Smile ...

Mom pointed and announced your name. What are the chances? Of all the names that could have been on the sample card, it has to be one that would zap your mother.

That zap was perfect, Son ...

At the end of the trip, You remind us again that You're always with us.

Truly, everywhere we are, there You'll be ... <3
