Hello Son,
Friday, August 1
So on Friday morning, your sister Justine,
Dad and Mom attended the morning mass
at St Francis Xavier Church at 6:15 am.
Justine was not working on that Friday.
Since she would be working during the
weekend, we are now attending masses
during her off days.
We were about 5 minutes early.
Mass has not started.
Mom walked to the middle row of the
pews, towards the center.
Mom sat down.
Justine, who was walking behind her,
signaled to sit on that last bench on the left.
Here is a simple diagram for better clarity.
Draw when you are out of words. Hah.
Mom quickly got up and followed your sister.
Justine genuflected and moved into that last pew.
Followed by Mom and then, Dad.
Mass started. All stood up.

What??
What's that?
It was right in front of Mom's eyes.
Mom left her handphone in the car.
Leaning over to Dad, Mom whispered,
as she pointed to the engraving on the
pew before her,
"Take a photo of this ..."
Dad turned to look, before reaching for
his handphone and clicked.
The name "Chris" was clearly engraved into
the pew.
Pause.
You would have seen your mother chuckling
to herself.
(Memory rewinding back)
Recently, Dylan lost his History book. He was
very sure he last saw it on his bed, because he
was studying for his test the night before -
on his bed.
Aunty Diana said she helped him look for the
book - everywhere she could think of - in the
house.
None.
No History book found.
Mom said to look in between the 2 beds (Dylan
and Ryan's beds were attached together) or
under the bed or under the mattress or behind
the heardboard.
After 2 weeks of not being able to find it, Aunty
Diana said she would have to order for a new
book.
Mom was not so keen to get a new book, because
Mom has done quite a bit of work with Dylan, and
we have underlined important information and
written answers to questions in that book.
We would have to do so much work all over again,
if we got a new book. Oh, did Mom mention that she
is helping Dylan in his History? He was getting
bad results for that subject, but right after Mom
started to do some revision work with him, he actually
scored A for the last 2 semester tests.
Yup, you heard right!
Since Mom intervened. His grades jumped from below
sea level to - A.
Ah-hem.
Excuse me.
Enough said. Haha.
So it was good sense to just
FIND - THAT - BOOK
and not buy a new one.
Mom sent an audio to Aunty Diana :
"Call on St Christopher to help Dylan
find that book."
(Yes, Mom still recalls how you called out
to St Christopher in a sin-song manner to help
you look for Dad's tumdrive when you dropped
it in a football field - and St Christopher led you
to it! It was amazing! Since then, Mom would
always call upon St Christopher when she is unable
to locate her things. He never disappoints!)
So apparently, Aunty Diana played Mom's
audio-text and Ryan overheard it.
Aunt D told Mom, "Ryan heard your message and
he said aloud, St Lai-Christopher, make Dylan's
book come out ..."
Ryan's surname :
Ryan Lai Christoper (Lai being Aunty D's surname
and Christopher, Uncle Christopher's name)
The book did not appear immediately.
A day or two later, when Aunty D said she would
have to order a new book, Dylan said, "No need, I
found the book!"
What???
Where???
Dylan said it was on his study table, near his computer.
Strange.
He is always on his computer and he did not see it?
Aunty D said she checked his table several times,
and the book was not there.
Mom replied smugly, "It's St Christoper ..."
The next day, Aunty D casually mentioned,
St Christopher is not the patron for lost things.
It's actually St Anthony."
Haha yeah ...
Mom is aware.
Mom said, ever since Mom heard Daniel called
upon St Christopher (especially in that sing-song way)
at that football field, way back when you were with us,
that saint's name has stuck with her. Besides, if you
call upon St Christoper for help, he's not likely gonna
say :
Hey Anthony, call for help. Missing item. Get on it.
Your problem. Not mine.
St Christopher will just help you find your misplaced
thing.
Always.
He has always helped Mom.
So the next day, when Mom saw Ryan, Mom said,
"See Ryan, you called St Christopher to help you
look for Dylan's book, and you see right, the book
suddenly appears. St Christopher didn't make it
appear immediately, but once you call him,
you will find your missing thing."
Yup, before you know it.
Back to church.
Mom was grinning from ear to ear.
She was gonna sit in the middle aisle.
Justine pointed to that side aisle.
Of all the names that could have been,
and there's a ka-zillion names out there,
it has to be one that is connected to Mom's
experience.
Chris ... engraved clearly on the church pew.
Mom thought out loud,
"You must have whispered to your sister
to move to this pew ..."
Then, before she knew it, she saw the
ZAP ZAP ZAP!

Mom whispered urgently to Dad.
"Take a photo of that guy in front. He's
wearing a ZAP shirt."
The flash sign.
Can you see the ZAP ZAP flash pattern on the blue
shirt?
LOL.
You would have whispered to Mom.
"See blue shirt in front, Ma. ZAP."
That guy has been sitting right there since mass started
and Mom did not even notice him, let alone his ZAP
shirt.
Timing is everything.
How do you do it, Daniel?
Keep the ZAPs coming.
Will have to stop here for a bit.
The maid is coming over.
Hugs and kisses.
