It's a Saturday morning.

 

The mood is sombre.

8:06 am.

 

Mom has been watching this below 

video since 6:30 am in the morning.

 

On her own.

 

By herself.

 

All alone.

 

Dad is still sleeping.

Early this (Sat) morning, Mom sent

a text to Aunty J (USA) with a

picture of this Megyn Kelly 

video (6:19 am) :

 

 

 Continuing my shock and numbness ...

 

What's a better word than senseless and stupid  ...

about that monster who wanted to 

play with a gun that day. 

I want to put him in a human blender. 

The short video ended.

 

Pause. 

 

Mom then noticed a 3 hour long video

on Charlie's life and legacy and 

clicked to view. 

 

Mom snapped a photo of the video

and sent that to Aunty J (6:38 am) 

with the message :

In between sniffs and sobs.

 

What's happening to this world?

Rewind back to 3 days ago.

 

Thursday, Sept 11 (Mom's time)

 

It was about 8:30 am in the morning.

 

Mom was ready to go to school.

 

Dad appeared from the bedroom,

and said abruptly, "Don't you know?

Didn't you hear? Charlie Kirk is dead!

He was shot!"  

 

Mom stopped short.

 

Did she hear right???

 

  

 

 

 

WHAT???

Dad said no more.

 

Mom had to go.

 

The children would be arriving soon

and Teacher A was alone in school in

the morning. 

 

Mom drove to school.

 

In a daze. 

 

Parked the car.

 

Went up the lift.

 

Walked in to school.

 

Her mind was buzzing with questions,

 

but she kept her composure as usual.

 

She found herself exchanging empty greetings.

 

Empty ... for that day.

 

She couldn't pretend that it was

a normal day.

 

Charlie Kirk has been shot!

 

He succumbed to his injury.

 

It was fatal.

 

Only recently, not more than a week ago,

Mom had raised her (unexplained) concerns 

to Dad, about Charlie's safety when he talks

in public. 

 

It was after a video she watched one 

morning, where Charlie was sharing the 

platform with Riley. There was a kid 

who clearly had no brains and had nothing 

better to say but to criticize Charlie and Riley.

 

Personal attack.

 

All the way. 

 

It was disgusting and difficult to watch and hear

those empty remarks.

 

Mom wondered if Charlie wore a 

bullet-proof outfit. 

 

Obviously no. 

 

How does he keep himself safe,

surrounded by all the lunatics?

 

You would have heard your mother 

asked Dad several times about that. 

He was exposing himself to all these 

people and he is not really protected. 

 

Seriously, what can his bodyguard do? 

 

 

 

 

 

Feeling restless, Mom sent a text to

Aunty J (USA) :

  

(8:20 am)  

Omg. Bryan (Dad) just told me 

Charlie Kirk was shot!

Aunty J (USA) replied :

 

Who is that?

Mom texted back - impatiently. 

 

He's the guy who goes from campus 

to campus around the US to do political 

debates with uni students. He takes on 

their questions and help the new gen people

to see solutions and have better understanding 

of  trump n team, of God etc. I was expressing  

my concern for his safety only the past few days ...

he's always talking to a big crowd like 2k

to 3k in open space ...  I can't believe it!

Aunty J (USA) :

 

Oh no ... Trump supporter?

Mom replied :

He's more than a supporter.

Aunty J (USA) : 

Turning on news now.

He takes upon himself to educate all 

the thousands of young gen z people ...

the future voters of the country ...

sent out the announcement of Charlie's

passing - 4:40 pm 

 

Perfect angel time.

Aunty J (USA) :

I didn't know who he was until today ...

so sad ... How come you guys were

following him?

Mom shared :

 

He's brilliant.

Mesmerising.

Entertaining.

Fascinating.

To watch him. He's campaigning for all 

Trump's causes and policies ... at college 

and university level. He's the only one that

got me mesmerized enough to watch him ...

weird that this week, I have been tuning in

to watch his videos for about an hour in 

the mornings. 6:30 am to 7:30 am kinda time. 

With my coffee. I was so SHOCKED when

Bryan said to me this morning, "Don't you 

know? Didn't you hear? Charlie Kirk  is dead.

He was shot ..." OMG! I was so stunned and

speechless. Loss for words. How do you react 

to that news?

Mom continued :

 

I just realized ... yesterday morning

(Wednesday 10th) ... around 7 am ... 

before I watched Charlie, I was saying 

the rosary. (following YouTube : 38 mins.)

(Normally, rosary videos are 20 - 25 mins 

only but I wanted a recent video and so, 

I picked one that was uploaded 9 hours ago 

- it was somehow extra long ... 38 mins.)

I don't do rosary all the time ... 

but yesterday (Wed 10th), I did. It's like,

(on hindsight) I was doing the rosary for him ... 

Trump announced his death at 4:40 pm. 

The angel numbers are there.

 

Gosh. I feel a special connection to him now.

 

So, I'm saying the rosary on Wed 10th @ 7 am

... there in USA, Tuesday 9th @ 4 pm ... 

and following day, Wed 10th on your side, 

he was shot at 12:20 pm.

That's like 2 X 21.

 

Angel call for sure.

 

Just when Mom was beginning to 

enjoy her coffee in the mornings

with Charlie Kirk, it came to a

rude and an abrupt end. 

 

The next morning, on Friday 12th

(our side), we went for morning mass

at 6:30 am.

 

Mom brought a nice scented candle

to light at Mother Mary's grotto. 

 

Dad was driving.

 

Your sister Justine, was sitting behind.

 

Justine mentioned about the assassination, 

and whether we had heard.

 

Pause.

Why ...

 

It's all Mom could think about since 

Dad shocked her with the news the day 

before. 

  

Mom showed Justine the candle, and said

"For Charlie Kirk." 

 

 

 

 

 

In church, Mass began ...  

and went on.

 

Your mother was just present in church,

and not participating. Can you blame her? 

 

 

During communion, there were 2 lines going 

up to the altar. Your family were on the line

on the right. As Mom was walking up, she 

suddenly noticed the words on the back of a

tee shirt of a boy in front of her - on the left line.

 

The words :

 

university. college. students

 

Oh my.

 

How strange.

 

Mom thought of the university and college

words she had used in her texts the day before.

 

Pause.

 

You know what's going on, don't you?

 

ZAP ZAP!!

 

A knowing and sad smile appeared 

in your mother's face.

 

After mass ended, we went to the grotto, which

was on the right side of the church. 

 

Mom lit the candle she brought.

 

May your legacy live on, Charlie Kirk ...

 

 

 

Back to present ...

 

So this morning, Saturday,

Mom did not go down to the pool,

as she normally does on Saturday

mornings before 8am. 

 

She was watching that 3 hour video,

in the middle of it, and since Dad also

said he didn't want to go down to the pool,

Mom decided she had good reason today.

 

Charlie Kirk.

 

As Mom was watching videos at random,

she happened to notice the tee shirt that Charlie

was wearing on that fateful day.
