Call 291 : HERCULES ZAP

Hello Son,

Wednesday, Oct 26

Today is Deepavali.

The festival of lights. It's a public holiday today so school's closed for the day. Aunt S has invited Dad, Mom and Aunt H to her house for Deepavali lunch. So, that was the plan for the day. To hang out at Aunt S's home with her mother, at her place.

Dad and Mom left the condo at about 12:15 pm to pick Aunt H up in Bangsar, before going to Aunt S's house. We arrived at Aunt S's place at about 12:30 pm. We were the first guests to arrive. :D Mom wanted to catch up with Aunt S for a bit before the crowd came.

Anyway, after the initial greetings, Mom and Aunt H were in the kitchen, helping to bring out all the lovely curries including the signature mutton dish. By the way, Mom managed to get the recipe for 4 of the dishes, mutton rendang, sambal prawns, sambal brinjals and briyani rice. :D

Slurp ...

Burp -ppp ...

The radio was on, by the dining table, playing softly in the background.

Before long, Mom heard the familiar music to the song COUNT ON ME. Immediately, she pulled out her cellphone.

It was 12:39 pm.

ZAP ZAP ZAP.

Did You see your mother smiling secretly to herself?

If you ever find yourself stuck
in the middle of the sea?

I'll sail the world to find you

If you ever find yourself lost
in the dark and you can't see?

I'll be the light to guide you

You're right there with Mom, she knows.

Guests started arriving ...

By 1 pm, we had lunch.

Aunt S and her mother had made a delicious spread of Indian food and all of us tucked in heartily in a warm and easy fellowship.

The food was amazing ... spoon - lickin' delicious.

When Mom was done, after two helpings of everything on the table, she excused herself and brought her plate to the kitchen. At the sink, the maid took her plate. Mom washed her hands before returning to the dining.

Dad passed her just as she was approaching the dining table, and whispered, "The song is on ..."

"Which song?" Mom muttered under her breath, but Dad had walked on. Then Mom heard the lyrics ...

Lay me down on a bed of roses ...

Oh My Gosh ...

Are You kidding???

If I Die Young ???

She glanced at her cellphone.

It was 1:55 pm.

Again ...

OMG ...

How perfect is this?

What a coinciDANs ... :D

That was nobody, nobody but YOU.

Mom knows. She was in a really happy mood.

Couldn't You tell?

We spent the whole afternoon at Aunt S's home, munching on cookies and stuffing ourselves with cakes. Finally, at about 6 pm, it was time to leave. Mom had to interview somebody who had called this morning for a cleaner's job

Dad was driving, with Mom in front and Aunty H at the back of the car. We arrived in school about 6:30 pm. The girl called to say she was on her way. While waiting for the girl to arrive, Mom stepped into the grocery shop beside the school.

A song that was playing in the shop had come to an end.

Would You believe it ...

OMG, would You believe it, but the next song that came on was COUNT ON ME ...

Oh Gee Wow ... Count On Me ... two times today ...

Had the girl arrived on time, your mother would not have stepped into the shop. The timing was too perfect. Angel perfect. Mom was meant to hear it, she knows. She spent the next 3 minutes or so, enjoying the song in the shop.

You can count on me like one, two, three ...

I'll be there ...

Anyway, after meeting the girl and interviewing her for about 20 minutes or so, Mom went back to the car. She couldn't wait to tell Dad ... about the song.

"The second time today," she remarked quite excitedly.

We were then on the way to the hospital in Subang Jaya to visit a relative.

At the hospital, one of the aunties, Aunt I, commented on the hospital's menu. Like a 5 star hotel's, the aunty said. Justine had in fact shown Mom the image of a rainbow that was in the menu, the day before.

Mom took the menu and looked at the rainbow again.

The familiar (If I Die Young) lyrics came on automatically in her head. Her favourite lines that warm her heart each time ...

Lord, make me a rainbow

I'll shine down on my mother

Shortly after, we heard the sounds of firecrackers exploding in the air.

Fireworks ...

Ah, major fireworks ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

A few minutes later, Dad held up a bottle of water from the side cabinet, and said, "This is free from the hospital ..."

Mom turned to look.

Free ???

Your mother glanced at her mobile.

The time was 8:53 pm.

Woah, that's like a whole lot of angel number 4

Rainbow ...

Then Firework ...

And then, Free ...

Is this leading somewhere?

Mom heard one of the aunties reply,

"Nothing is free in this world ..."

Free ...

She thought quietly, "But someone is ..." :D

Only YOU heard her. :D

We left the room at about 9 pm when Aunty I said that it was getting late. Aunty I, Aunty H, Dad and Mom went down the lift.

We parted at the lobby.

Dad asked Mom to wait at the lobby while he went to get the car.

So, Mom stood there by herself for a few minutes.

Ladies & Gentlemen, the drama is about to begin.

Wait for it.

She saw Dad approaching.

He had a big grin on his face.

He stopped the car for her to get in.

She opened the door and hopped on to her seat.

Immediately, she heard the familiar music ...

and then ...

Gasp!

Lord, make me a rainbow

I'll shine down on my mother

She'll know I'm safe with You

As she stands under my colors

Time stood still for two seconds.

W- what ???

OMG ...

Mom turned sharply at Dad, with an incredulous look on her face, her finger pointing to the radio, as she mouthed the OMG.

The time was 9:05 pm.

Decode : 4

Dad was grinning from ear to ear.

He said, "The song started there," he pointed, "at the bend."

Mom was totally hyper, "OMG, right at the Lord, - make - me - a - rainbow part ..."

OMG OMG OMG ...

Mom couldn't stop talking ...

OMG, TWO COUNT ON ME AND TWO IF I DIE YOUNG TODAY ... OMG ... HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT???

Honestly, how - do - You - explain - that ???

Nobody could.

Nobody tried.

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

That moment was priceless.

We drove to a nearby pasta place for a quick dinner.

We walked over to an unoccupied table and sat down. Today, had been amazing. Even You have to admit that. How do You explain this, Mom asked Dad again.

It's awesome ...

Just then, your mother turned to her left, and as she did, she spotted the words :

This man was sitting beside our table.

OMG, who wears a tee shirt like this?

Lamb of God ...

Yes Son, God is good to us ...

Thank You for the reminder ...

After dinner, we were on our way home.

Along the highway, came a car with a number plate that zapped.

Orange Dot Blog

Mom instantly thought of the entry PEE in your Orange Dot Blog.

8871 ...

That's 24 ...

Your birth date ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

On the way back, two songs came on the radio in the car which made it clearer than ever that You were / are with us that day.

Glory Of Love (not by Peter Cetera) at 10:13 pm ...

Theme song of Karate Kid.

The boy in the movie is called Daniel

ZAP ZAP ZAP.

Oh Wow ... Every lil thing, reminds us of You.

Just before the turning into Taman Desa, I Can Go The Distance (Hercules) filled the car. The time was 10:28 pm.

Hearing the song, Mom could only shake her head in disbelief.

OMG ... Seriously ???

Once again, she thought of your Orange Dot Blog. In Dot 2, she had written about You and this song.

Orange Dot Blog

Two orange dot entries in the car on the way home ...

TWO ???

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

Oh Gee Wow ...

A definite coinciDANs ...

What an awesome day we had today ...

Keep the zaps coming, Son ...

Everywhere we are, there you'll be ...

We love You and we miss You very much ...

Be good ... :D

Call 290 : RAINBOW LABEL

Hello Son

Sunday, Oct 23

Early this morning, about 8 am, Dad, Mom and Justine were ready to go to church. Your sister was taking an awfully long time to get ready. At the lobby of the condo, Dad asked Justine to go down to the basement to get the car.

A few minutes later, Justine emerged from the basement car park, to pick Dad and Mom from the lobby.

Your sister said, "If I Die Young came on just now, when I started the engine ..."

"OMG ... Really? The beginning of the song?"

Justine said, "No ... "

Mom asked excitedly, "Did you get to hear the rainbow part?"
(2nd verse)

Your sister replied, "No ..."

Mom was surprised. "No? You weren't in time to hear the rainbow part?"

Justine said, "No ... Aiyah, but we all know the song la ..."

Mom said, "Still ... You missed the rainbow part? Yesterday (Friday) was his 21st. I'm sure he wanted you to hear the rainbow part ... "

That was Sunday morning ... when Justine went to get the car.

Monday, Oct 24

This morning, Mom was in school.

Everything was just very normal ... until evening time, about 5:30 pm.

The kids were playing on the floor ... when Mom turned on the computer, all of them kinda rushed to the computer area.

Your mother happened to noticed the letter D on the floor, which was standing apart from the other alphabets. Of all the alphabets that have to get her attention, it had to be a D

You  must be near ... :D

See the D?

 A closer look ...

A few minutes later, a 4 year old girl (note : a FOUR year old girl) said she wanted to go wee-wee. Y skipped to the Little Girls' room, with Mom following closely behind her.

While waiting for Y, your mother noticed a mattress and a blanket on the stage (sleeping area) which had not been kept ... The toddler was the last one to wake up today, so whilst all the other mattresses were put away, his was still on the stage. What was unusual was that, this toddler doesn't normally sleep that soundly. Usually, he sleeps for half and hour only but today, he slept for almost 3 hours.

So his blanket and mattress was still on the stage.

Mom bent down to pick up his blanket (to fold). Would You believe it but the first thing she saw when she picked up the blanket was the label that said :

Rainbow

Oh --- My --- Gosh ...

You must have seen your mother standing quite still as she stared at the label ...

OMG ...

What are the chances???

A million names could have been on the label, and it had to be Rainbow???

Just then, Y skipped out, and went back to the computer table. Mom put down the blanket, still in awe.

Y was then sitting before the computer.

Mom found herself standing right behind her. She was watching Y, when Y suddenly pointed excitedly to an online game and said,

"I want the rainbow one ..."

You must have seen your mother holding her breath.

OMG ... W-WHAT ???

Mom could not believe her ears.

Did You whisper to the lil gurl?

Can You imagine how surprised your mother was to hear Y utter the word rainbow, just minutes after she spotted the rainbow label?

The letter D, the rainbow blanket, and the rainbow word ...

all that happened in the span of 10 minutes.

You want rainbow, Ma? Here are two ... :D

Gosh Daniel, that was definitely You.

Nobody, nobody but You.

When Mom got home this evening, she couldn't wait to tell Justine.

Before your mother could tell Jus about her rainbow inciDAN, your sister said, "Wait, wait, I have something to tell you. Something awesome happened this morning ..."

Justine said, this morning (Monday), she went to get the car to go to college and IF I DIE YOUNG came on the radio.

"RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING ..." your sister stressed.

"It came on again today?  Yesterday too, right?"

On Sunday and Monday, when your sister went to get the car, IF I DIE YOUNG had come on the radio. On Sunday, Justine had missed the rainbow part, and on Monday, the song started right from the beginning.

Mom was amused. "It's so obvious it's your brother. Here Jus, Mom wants you to hear the rainbow part ..."

Justine continued, "Wah, got style. I warmed up the car, released brakes, put the car into gear, stepped on the accelerator, the moment the car moved, If I Die Young ... " (your sister sang the first line)

Wow Daniel ...

That was pretty neat.

How awesome ...

Friday, your 21st month with Jesus, You sent Mom a rainbow. Then followed by the song on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. How absolutely wonderful to hear the assurance again and again, that You are safe with the Lord Jesus. :D

Lord, make me a rainbow

I'll shine down on my mother

She'll know I'm safe with You

As she stands under my colors

Thanks for that, Son ... :D Keep the zaps coming ...

Call 289 : TWO PETERS

Hello Son,                                       (continue from Call 288)

Saturday, Oct 22

Mom got up early this morning at about 6 am.

She went straight to the computer.

She typed out the lyrics (2nd verse) of IF I DIE YOUNG on Call 288.

She was still very overwhelmed by the rainbow You sent on your 21st month on Friday ... Seriously, it's just so awesome to know that You're assuring your mother You are safe with the Lord Jesus. :D

How cute is that???

Lord, make me a rainbow

I'll shine down on my mother

She'll know I'm safe with You

As she stands under my colors

This verse is by far your mother's favourite. Mom knows You have something to do with those lyrics. You must have whispered to the song-writer to add those lines. Such a specific message for your mother. :D

At about 9:30 am, Dad said to get ready. We were supposed to go to China Press to put in an ad for kindergarten staff in the Chinese papers. Mom saved her draft, and went to the room to change.

We were soon in the car.

Barely 5 minutes in the car, Mom gave a sudden yelp.

Would You believe it but ...

If I Die Young came on the radio!!!

OMG ...

Are You kidding???

What are the chances???

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

It was 9:53am.

Decode : 44

Mom was all hyper as she excitedly told Dad that this morning, the first thing she wrote on the call-blog (after Hello Son) were the lyrics to IF I DIE YOUNG.

" ... The Lord - make - me - a - rainbow verse ... I wrote that this morning ..." Mom said almost breathlessly.

OMG ...

"He's talking to me ... I'm telling You, he's talking to me ... He knows I wrote that line ... He's talking to me ... OMG ... I can't believe it ..."

It was merely a preview, so after the first two lines, another song came on. Mom was like, totally on cloud nine. You really are with Mom, aren't You? It was unbelievable.

Dad stopped by the bank. He parked the car by the side of the road, turned off the engine before getting out of the car.

Mom stayed in the car.

You must have seen your mother reaching over to turn the car engine on again. Are you kidding? She's not gonna miss the song, now that she's just heard the preview. Shortly after, a big smile appeared on her face as she heard the familiar ...

If I die young

Bury me in satin

Lay me down on a bed of roses

Sink me in the river at dawn

Send me away with the

words of a love song

(click on title to view video)

Good thing Mom was alone in the car. She was able to sing to her heart's content. Yeah, loud enough to reach all the way to heaven. :D Were You shaking your head? :D

Dad came back to the car. The song was still on, though coming to an end.

We went back to pick up Justine for breakfast. She wasn't ready earlier when we left. In the car, Jus said she wanted to have toast. Mom would have also liked to be in an air-conned cafe. However, Dad said today, we'll have noodles at the coffee shop.

No air-con.

Hot coffee shop.

Grumble Grumble Grumble ...

As we were walking to the coffee shop, we bumped into Uncle Peter.

The undertaker.

The guy who prepared You, dressed You up and got You ready to meet Jesus and Mary and all the angels in heaven at your departure date. :(

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

Quickly, Mom pulled out her cellphone to check the time.

It was 10:26 am.

Decode : 144

After the Hi - How are you - Take care greeting, Peter waved and left. Mom said to Dad, "We just heard IF I DIE YOUNG, and now we see Peter? OMG ... Daniel must have whispered to you, go to the hot coffee shop, Dad ..."

Yeah Yeah ... all because Mom needs to have TWO zaps. :D

Chuckle ...

Thanks for that Son ... :D

After our food, we drove back to drop Justine back. Dad said he left his handphone at home. Dad was driving, so he asked Mom to go up to the condo to get the phone.

Mom said no.

She wanted to stay in the car.

She didn't know why then.

She avoided eye contact, when she blurted out some lame excuse about her joint pains that had suddenly come on.

Dad didn't buy it.

So anyway, Dad went up to the condo.

No sooner had he left the car, the song COUNT ON ME came on the radio. Ah, she knew it. There was a reason why she had wanted to remain in the car. Mom took a quick glance at the time on the dashboard.

Oh My ...

It was 11:11 am ...

Her angel sign. Her Son's right beside her, she can tell. Once again, Mom was alone in the car.

Woah Son, are we having a Karaoke session today?

(click on title to view video)

Dad came back to the car. The song was coming to an end.

Mom said, "You see? Son wanted me to stay in the car. He had a song for me ..." :D

Now that, Dad bought.

Grin.

We drove to China Press to place the ad.

After that, Dad said he had to deliver a package to a Peter in Bangsar (different guy).

W-what did Dad say?

Peter?

Another Peter?

A second Peter?

Two Peters???

TWO Peters today???

Oh My ...

What a coinciDANs ...

When we arrived at the doorstep of Peter's place, Mom pointed out the time. It was 12:04 pm. But of course ...

What other perfect time could there be?

Dad and Mom went to the book shop after that and spent some time there.

At about 1 pm, we met up with Aunty H for a cuppa tea.

We dropped Aunty H back to her place an hour and a half later. On the way home, would You believe it but NOBODY came on the radio.

Mom just had to smile. It has been quite a while since she last heard the song.

I want nobody, nobody but chiu ...

Yeah Son ... The inciDANs today ...

It was nobody, nobody but YOU ...

Wink Wink  ...

Call 288 : NOODLE SET

Hello Son,                                       (continue from Call 287)

Lord, make me a rainbow

I'll shine down on my mother

She'll know I'm safe with You

As she stands under my colors

(If I Die Young by The Band Perry)

Call 281 : Garden Zap

Aww Son, honestly ... It's unbelievable. Mom had asked You to give her a sign on Friday morning, on Call 287, and 2 hours later, the sign came ... and it came in a way that Mom knew instantly that it was You. :D

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

In fact, the whole week, You were busy dropping your mother little signs to remind her that You are near.

1. On Monday (Oct  17)
It was early in the morning. Dad was leaving for outstation. Dad had dropped Mom in school. The day care attendant said we were out of carrots. So Mom asked Dad to get some carrots at the nearby market ... walking distance from our school.

Some 15 minutes later, Dad came back with the carrots. He said he needed to leave then, to be in time for an appointment in Ipoh. We were at the door, when Mom suddenly spotted a tiny white feather at the door step.

Mom pounced on the feather ...

Did You see that? She was like a cartoon ...

She exclaimed excitedly, "Hey, a white feather ... Look!"

Picking it up, she held it up, and waved it to Dad.

Call 178 : Manga Message

Mom remarked that Dad must have brought it back from the market.

Grin.

No, she didn't quite get the usual ZAP ZAP ZAP with the one feather ... Sorry about that, Son ... You can't blame Mom ... She just wants to be VERY SURE that the feather is connected to her Son and not simply and carelessly think that every little feather that comes her way is from him.

Dad lifted his foot to look at the soles of his shoes. There was something long that had stuck on the soles ... like a sticky tissue.
Mom watched Dad pulled out that sticky thing ... and before long, found herself gasping.

OMG ... Are You kidding her?

It was a second white feather!

TWo -- WHiTe -- FeaTHeRS ???

The first feather by the door, is the shorter one (1 inch)
and the second feather, under Dad's shoes, is the longer one (3 inches).

Oh My Gosh ...

Dad grinned, "You want two, your Son's giving you TWO."

Can You imagine Dad bringing your mother two white feathers from the market? Mom finds it amusing that the second feather had survived the distance from the market to the school (probably about 100 steps) and was still stuck securely to the soles of your father's shoe when he noticed it.

Mom knows ...

She was so meant to see that.

Had Dad noticed the feather under his shoe earlier, he would have just plucked it out and chucked it aside. Mom happily held TWO feathers in her hand, and ran along to her table to keep it safely in her bag. :D

2. On Tuesday (Oct  18)

So that was Monday.

On Tuesday, Mom has told You about the Hello Kitty and the Hello Hello inciDANs in Call 287 : Rainbow Sign.

Several inciDANs happened on that day.

That morning, after dropping Justine off at college, Mom drove to pick up the first kid for school. She was about 10 minutes earlier than usual. It was 7:40 am.

So she turned off the engine while waiting for YH to come out of the house.

Mom smiled as she heard YH's mother yelling at him to hurry up, and that Teacher Lynn is here ... etc.

YH finally appeared at the house gate.

He was soon in the car. As your mother turned on the ignition, the song 21 GUNS came on the radio instantly.

Hearing that, Mom had to smile.

21 GUNS ...

Yes Son, 3 more days to your 21st month on Friday ... thought your mother quietly to herself.

Then, going home time at 12:15 pm ...

All the kids were nicely packed into the car. We were ready to go. The kids were fighting over which DVD to put on that day. Mom listened to their squabbles.

I want Strawberry Shortcake ...

No No No !!! ... I want Ultraman ...

No! I don't want that ... I want Barbie Princess ...

Mom listened and couldn't help smiling. Then, quite suddenly, just as we were leaving the school area, the following lines filled up the car :

The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting ...

By Secondhand Serenade.

Mom's eyes shot to the time on the dashboard.

It was 12:24 pm.

OMG ...

ZAP ZAP ZAP ...

How precious ...

How perfect ...

How awesome ...

12:24 pm ...

Your birth date ...

December 24 ...

Could it be that we have been this way before ...

FALL FOR YOU ...

The second song You sang to Mom the night before You left.

The children were watching the DVD with the radio on. Meant to be. So meant to be. Mom didn't know how to switch over from radio to the DVD sound. If she knew how to do that, she would have missed the song for sure.

Yeah Son ... Fall For You ... the last and final song You sang to Mom on earth ... Living now with God didn't stop us from singing together ... :D ... Does God sing along too sometimes?

See Call 266 : It's Amazing

Anyway ...

One by one, Mom dropped the kids home. When she was done with the last child, would You believe it, but another zap song came on and filled her senses within seconds.

Do You ever feel like a plastic bag ...

Oh Lord ... plastic bag ...

Sigh ...

Yeah, sure ... sometimes ...

Anyway ...

On the way to college, the song BACK TO DECEMBER came on.

The time was 1:49 pm.

Oh Wow ...

Today's just so full of ZAP ZAP ZAP song messages.

I go back to December all the time ...

Yes Son, your mother does ... go back to December all the time ...

All the time ... she goes back to December ... <3

In particular, December 24 ...

Arriving at college, Mom picked Justine up.

We drove to one of the cafes for a quick bite. When the waiter came to take our orders, Mom said she wanted the :

"Hor Fun Set - small ..."  (Noodles)

Justine said she was still full from her lunch in school, so she ordered a drink.

The waiter disappeared into the kitchen.

Several minutes later, he came back and said,

"The hor fun, small set don't have, only big one got ..."

Mom stared at him and thought she must have heard wrongly. She didn't want to make a fuss, so she changed her order to the chicken rice set.

The waiter left.

Justine said, "That's so weird ... small set don't have, big one got ..."

Mom grinned, "You heard that too? I thought I heard wrong."

For the next few minutes, we were like, why can't they just take some of the hor fun (noodles) from the big set and put it into the small set? Can't they just take a bit from the big bowl and put into the smaller bowl? What's the difference?

Tsk Tsk Tsk ...

That's so weird, Justine kept repeating.

Anyway ... as Mom was having her chicken rice, Justine was still at the "big set small set" issue. No, she wouldn't let it rest, for some reason ... that would be apparent to us later.

When we were done, Mom called for the bill.

The bill came.

Mom glanced at the bill and let out a lil gasp.

Oh my goodness ...

Would You look at that?

The amount 1480.

Awww ... You were definitely with us at the cafe, Son ...

The poor waiter will never know what hit him ...
