(continue from Call 657)
Hello Son,
After our call yesterday (Call 657), Dad and Mom
went to the mall for a bit.
Dad suggested at first to go for seafood noodles
at one of the coffee shop not so nearby ...
but Mom said it was too hot for coffee shops.
It was lunch hour.
Mid day.
Sun rays at its peak.
So, Gardens Mall it is.
We went to ... no prizes for guessing ... Oriental Kopi.
Haha.
As usual.
The queue was there.
We stood in line.
Mom thought of her Call to you in the morning.
The first prizes : 1122 and 2424
So extraordinary.
Like, when would Dad even check the results?
Never.
You must have whispered to Dad to check on that day.
We would not have known that on Christmas Eve,
on the 24th, your birthday and Dad's, 24 x 2,
would come out as lucky numbers
1st Prize 2 days later.
And 1122 ...
That was drawn like 8 days before the 2424.
Mo suddenly realized she forgot to explain
about the 1122 in her Call.
Why, 1122 ...
That's a clear-cut 2121 ...
The date you left us to be with JESUS and
MAMA MARY.
January 21, 2010
2121.
Everywhere we are, there you'll be.
Always.
Since the day JESUS summoned you home to Him.
He would always allow you to let your presence
be felt at home. On a daily basis. Who says
you cannot connect with someone in Heaven?
You surely can. This Call Blog is solid proof
that you can.
It will be 14 years this coming January 21, that Mom
has been calling you and talking to you,
who art in Heaven.
GOD is good.
GOD is so good.
GOD is so good,
He's so good to us.
Some 15 minutes later, your parents were right
in front of the queue.
The waiter came and signaled for us to follow him.
Mom and Dad walked in to the eatery,
following the waiter.
When we came to our table, Mom couldn't help
but gave Dad a big, knowing grin.
Oh my.
Did Mom not just called you before we came here?
Dad sat down.
Do you see that?
That number?
Hahahaha.
"Daniel got my call,"
Mom said to Dad with a hearty laugh.
ZAP ZAP ZAP!!!
And that's how you do it ...
Thank you, Son.
You're always watching over us.
Mom knows.
Dad had curry noodles.
Mom did not order anything for herself.
She was still feeling a bit bloated
from the homemade pasta the night before.
Still, there was space for her favourite drink.
Here come the drinks.
Dad had coffee.
Mom had tea.
Hmmm ...
So delicious.
We left the eatery about an hour later.
Whilst walking towards Metro.
Mom's eyes were suddenly drawn to
this picture.
Pause.
Nostalgia.
Up.
The movie UP.
The first and last movie that
you and Mom went to see together.
Our movie - UP.
At the time of bringing you to this movie,
Justine and Dad were not around
that weekend,
Mom was not aware there would
be a dying scene.
Had she known, she would not have
brought you to watch UP.
Then again, it was meant to be.
We were just so silent during that scene.
We have never spoken
about dying before -
not then ...
not after ...
it was unthinkable to think that
that could happen to us.
But it did ...
Another dying scene that spoke to us
was in Two And A Half Men ...
when Charlie was in the coffin.
Mom and you had watched that
quietly.
(recalling)
So many unspoken messages
were suddenly understood,
though not a word was uttered.
Besides, dying was not a word
we mentioned at home.
We prefer the word
teleport, right Daniel?
That was what happened.
You teleported to Heaven.
Maybe not so instantaneously ...
but
more like ...
UP UP UP and away
into the clouds
and over the rainbows
to JESUS and MARY ...
Ryan is here.
He is not in school today.
Not feeling well.
Gonna attend to him now ya, Son.
We miss you, Daniel.
Keep the ZAPS coming.
xoxo
Mom
