Hello Son,
Today is your 21st.
Mom really has to make this call to you.
She has been delaying this call.
Something HUGE happened a week ago.
12 days to be exact.
So HUGE, Mom does not even know how to begin.
Yesterday, Saturday, 20th, our family, including grandma,
your aunts and kids, went out to collect our studio photos.
Yup, the photos are ready.
That's Ryan trying to identify everyone.
We were at the photo studio about 1:30 pm.
After collecting our photos,
we walked to a nearby mall,
to have lunch at ...
GO NOODLES.
There goes your parents' KETO diet.
By the way, our KETO diet did not stand a chance.
We broke too many rules.
Anyway, we will try low carbs as much as we can.
We were at the restaurant at about 2 pm.
As we were looking at the menu,
Dad said to Mom,
"Look behind you. Turn slowly."
Mom did, and was not sure what she was supposed to see.
Mom turned back, with a questioning look on her face.
Dad repeated, "That little girl in pink."
Mom turned to look again.
She saw that little girl in pink, with her mother presumably,
walking away from their table right behind us, to the cashier.
Mom was looking at her back.
Dad said, "You can't see it now.
She has a big number 21 on her front."
Mom smiled.
Hi Son. You are surely with us. :D
Mom caught sight of the table number beside her.
Wider smile.
ZAP ZAP ZAP.
Your mother is trying to take a selfie here.
Oops! Sorry Dad, and people behind.
Dad took over.
Ahh. This is better.
All in.
After lunch, we strolled over to a cafe.
To hang around, and just chill for a bit.
Dad ordered coffee for adults and cocoa for kids.
Ryan entertained himself.
Dylan too. Lol.
Aunty C, Megan and Dad.
Aunty D was showing Mom a video on our
cruise ship. We are taking a cruise in November.
The video showed how amazing the cruise would be.
Mom has ordered 5 swimsuits on an American online website.
4 for each day of the trip, and 1 spare.
Meanwhile, we were entertained by a girl singing
with her guitar in the background.
Her back is facing us.
The person with the brown headscarf.
Can you see her?
Anyway, after the video, Mom walked around to have
a look at the mobile stalls.
About 20 minutes later, just as she had walked one circle,
and going back to the cafe,
the girl with the guitar,
started strumming the music to
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW.
Mom heard it.
You would have seen a big smile on
your mother's face.
Mom reached the cafe at this point.
Dad threw a knowing glance at Mom
and both your parents smiled happily.
Mom sat down on her seat to enjoy the song.
Of course, her son would let her know
he's there with the family.
When the song finished,
the girl sang the next song :
DELILAH.
OMG.
Seriously.
You used to play this DELILAH song on your guitar
and sing this song.
Mom said, "Didn't Daniel used to play this
song on his guitar?"
Dad said, "Yes, he played with the whole chords."
Not like the way that girl was playing.
(That's what Dad meant to say.)
Two ZAP songs ... one after another.
It that's not a ZAP from heaven,
Good Lord, tell Mom what is.
ZAP ZAP ZAP!
That evening, when we reached home,
Mom displayed the photos collected
this afternoon, over on our white low-shelf.
We weren't sure which wall to hang the big one up,
so for the time being, all the frames will be here.
Standing at the back, left to right:
Uncle C, Dad, Mom, Justine, Aunt J & Uncle C (USA), Megan,
Front row :
Dylan, Aunt D, Grandma, Ryan, Aunt C.
Grandma with her 4 daughters.
Left to right :
Aunt C, Aunt D, Grandma, Mom, Aunt J.
Should be 5 daughters.
Aunt Tracy is with you up there
with JESUS and MARY.
(didn't realize the glass is so reflective)
It wouldn't be complete without our family photo with you, Daniel.
This is one of our favourite family photo of us together.
Taken about a year before you departed
(on January 21, 2010)
to live with JESUS and MARY.
This morning, on your 21st,
Mom woke up and
decided it is time to make that call
and tell you all about that HUGE thing
that happened 12 days ago.
OMG. Help your mother to stay calm
as she relives it in Call 637.
