CALL 628 : NYONYA ZAPS

Hello Son,

Wednesday, June 15 (midnight)

At the KL International Airport.

Dad, Mom, Grandma and Megan.

Aunty J is arriving at 11:55 pm from LAX.

At the arrival lounge.

Megan and Amah (Grandma) ...

wait patiently.

WELCOME balloon is ready.

Aunty J emerged from the sliding doors 20 mins later.

Hugs. Kiss. Kodak moment.

Friday, June 17

We are going to Malacca today.

Mom has given instructions to the teachers to handle the school.

Dad, Mom, Grandma and Aunty J is driving down to Malacca

Just a day trip.

The night before, during dinner, we asked Aunty J asked Alexa (like SIRI),

what the weather condition is like on Friday in Malacca.

Alexa said "thunderstorm ..."

Oh well ...

What do computers know about taking that leap of FAITH.

So, we decided to go and take our chances.

Lol.

We don't have much time.

Aunty J is only with us for 2 weeks.

At 8 am, we met down at the lobby.

Aunty D is just about going to work.

Aunty J and Grandma appear from behind Mom.

Aunty D shrieks.

"Omg. Look at you guys!"

Hahahahahaha ...

Aunty J (right) and Mom are dressed like ...

like two peas in a blue pod.

No, no, no ... we did not plan this.

LOL.

We are sisters all right.

We think alike still, looks like it.

After all these years ...

Hahaha ...

Grandma says she likes our uniform.

More laughs.

Soon, we are in the car and on our way to Malacca.

We remember to get take-away delicious coffee for the trip too.

Hmmmmm.

Fast Forward ...

We arrive in Malacca 2 hours later,

Traffic is smoth.

Not many vehicles on the road.

It is a Friday.

A working day.

Feels somewhat great to ponteng from work.

Haha.

First thing we do is to have our chicken rice balls.

At this small corner coffee shop, next to Hard Rock Cafe.

No line so early in the morning.

You have been here, lining up like a tourist.

Remember?

Same taste in handbags. LOL.

Chicken rice balls. Chilli in the middle.

Grandma orders one whole chicken.

Grandma.

Bring on the sambal for Aunt J.

Dad and Mom.

Yummy!

After our brunch, we stroll around.

So at this one retail shop, that we remember coming to before,

we spend about an hour, trying on clothes.

Mom buys about 8 items of clothing from that shop.

Grandma and Aunty J buy a few bags-full.

It is a sunny and a beautiful day.

Alexa is wrong.

Good thing we did not listen to the computer-robot.

Haha.

And so we walk from store to store, here and there, try this and that,

until about 2 pm.

We stop by an eatery place for cendol.

Aunt J want cendol with durian.

No durian available.

Oh well.

Maybe durian is not in season.

The cendol is not that great.

That green thingy -- is all frozen.

Aunt J orders a bowl of assam laksa.

The bowl of laksa turns out to be a big disappointment.

Meanwhile, Dad is looking for a nice nyonya restaurant

for us to have an early dinner before we leave.

After our short refreshment, we decide to go to a

nice restaurant to have a nice meal.

So, by 3:15 pm, we are in another eatery.

Haha.

We have been to this eatery before.

Oh, good choice.

The food is so good.

All of them.

pie tee

assam fish

friend potato leaves with sambal

assam prawns

Grandma and Aunty J

The fish is so fresh and succulent.

The vegetables so yummy.

Better than kangkung belacan.

The prawns are so "bring-back-childhood-memories" delicious.

Even the omelette is good. No time to take photo.

Then comes the BEST entry.

We are about to finish our meal when the waitress comes

with a tray of 4 bowls of dessert.

Sago gula melaka.

She says, "This is dessert for you ... on the house."

Pause.

Did you hear that?

On the house?

Like -- we do not have to pay for that???

What's the word for that again???

Is it not -- FREE???

OMG.

Seriously.

FREE dessert for your family.

Thanks Son.

You must have whispered into the ears of the waitress.

Haha.

The dessert is chilled.

It's so refreshing and good to taste.

We really enjoyed that.

Especially with the gula melaka.

Then comes the bill.

The waiter hands the bill to Dad.

Mom asks Dad to show her the bill.

Mom holds her breath.

OMG.

Seriously.

All YOU.

ZAP ZAP ZAP.

Thank you Daniel, for always making your presence felt.

You are certainly with us everywhere we are.

At nyonya shoe shop at 4:15 pm

This manik shoe shop is a few doors away ...

from the restaurant.

At the restaurant, Grandma says she wants to buy a beaded pair of slippers.

For the June 25th party.

Grandma's birthday 80+1 party.

She is already tired, having walked all day.

We are all unaware where to get this beaded slippers.

When we leave the restaurant, Aunt J spots a manik (bead) shoe shop.

The rest is history.

Grandma gets her slippers.

Meanwhile, Aunty J and Mom go to the shop opposite the manik shop.

We get a few more items.

LOL.

Aunty J's dollars convert to our ringgit give her a lot of spending power.

Good for her.

Grin.

So we are are ready to go home.

Dad says, let's get coffee at Hard Rock cafe

(so we can also use the washroom).

Our car is at Hard Rock Cafe parking.

At Hard Rock at 6pm.

Grandma keep saying, "Lucky thing we came today, despite the thunderstorm warning."

It has been a beautiful day, that's for sure.

Slight drizzle when we were walking from Manik Shoe shop to Hard Rock Cafe.

We did not mind that at all.

Showers of blessings at the end of the day.

After our drinks, we are ready to go home.

We arrived back home at about 9:30 pm.

This car in front of us for a long time.

CALL 627 : ANGEL-STITCH

Hello Son,

Wednesday, June 8

It was about 3pm or so.

Mom and Dad were at home.

The television was on.

Dad was updating himself on the latest in the cryptocurrency news.

When Dad dozed off (haha) a short while later, Mom changed to Netflix.

For short and easy entertainment, your mother would normally view

Big Bang or Two and a Half Men.

Or Friends.

Or Merlin.

Or Downtown Abbey.

Anyway, nothing heavy for that day.

Since we were relaxing and de-stressing in the afternoon.

Anyway, for some reason, Mom noticed a cover that was unfamiliar.

Blue Streak.

It was a comedy apparently.

Martin Lawrence and Luke Wilson were starring in it.

Mom tuned in.

Sipping her tea, and checking her phone messages in between,

your mother watched the movie.

It wasn't long into the movie, possibly 15 to 20 minutes later,

Mom heard the words,

"I'm FREE ... I'm FREE at last ..."

What was that?

FREE?

Ooh, her favourite word in the world.

Mom's eyes shot to the screen.

Her eyes widened when she saw the number 4 on the screen.

Wow.

Seriously.

What are the chances of hearing the FREE word,

and seeing the number 4 at the same time?

Her angel number.

Her son is near.

He's letting her know.

A big smile appeared on her face.

Thanks Son.

Guess you are chilling with your mother, huh.

Awesome.

That Wednesday night, there was a knock on the door.

Dylan and Ryan popped up ... to pick up Ryan's milk bottle.

They did not come in.

They were waiting at the door.

Mom went to the kitchen to take the milk bottle.

As she was passing the bottle through our grilled gate,

Ryan was in his "making conversation" mode.

Ryan said, bla bla bla ... angel ... bla bla bla ...

Your mother only heard this word he uttered.

Angel ...

Mom said, "What did you say, Ryan?"

Ryan replied bla bla bla ... Mom cannot remember his exact words, but Ryan was trying to tell your mother that Aunty D had bought a new toy for him, and the toy's name is Angel.

Oh.

How quaint.

They both ran back after that.

Mom closed the door with a smile.

Even at the end of the day, her son reminds her that he's near.

Thanks, Son.

The next day on Thursday (June 9), Ryan was at our home.

We had returned from school.

It was about 7 pm in the evening when Megan came to pick Ryan up.

Mom asked Megan casually, "Ryan says he has a new toy called Angel?"

Megan said, "Yes ..."

Mom continued, "Why of all names, he picked this Angel name?"

Megan replied, "The name is on the foot ..."

Oh.

"The name Angel is on the toy's foot?" Mom queried.

Megan said, "Yeah."

Hmm, what toy is this that has the word Angel on its foot?

your mother wondered to herself, closing the door after them.

On Friday (June 10), we were returning from school.

Ryan was with us (Dad and Mom) as usual.

Aunty D said she was in the house.

She was back from the clinic earlier that day.

So Mom sent Ryan up to his home.

Aunty D was at the door.

Mom asked, "Ryan says he has a toy called Angel?"

Aunty D said, "Ya, I bought from him online ... didn't know they were so BIG ..."

Ryan ran in, and brought out his two plush toys.

Ohh.

"That's Stitch," Mom said with a smile.

You had Stitch when you were going for your very first brain surgery. Aunty J bought Stitch for you. Stitch was to accompany you during your surgery.

Your Stitch is still at home.

Aunty D said, "I had to buy another 2 smaller ones for him ... because the ones which came are so big, and he wants to bring them everywhere ..."

So now they have 4?

Hahaha ...

How magical.

Ryan (with small Stitch) and Dylan (with big Stitch)

During your days, Stitch only came in blue.

Mom has never seen a pink Stitch.

Mom's next question, "Why does Ryan call it Angel?"

Your aunt said, "The name is on the leg ..."

Mom peered to look.

Oh my.

How strange it was for Mom to see the Angel word on to the foot of Stitch.

Mom  commented, "This company could have just skipped this part ... why on earth they bothered to put this name on the foot like that?"

Mom learned later that the pink one is supposed to be Angel.

The blue one Mom has always only known it as Stitch ... but now, the Angel word is also on it.

CoinciDANS, you think?

Mom was trying to hard to connect.

The blue one ... your blue Stitch ... the toy that was with you when you were wheeled into the surgery room, and later brought out a few minutes after (after you were sedated) ... this Stitch now has the name Angel???

Angel???

Interesting.

On Saturday (June 11), Ryan came over to our place in the morning.

Aunty D was sending Megan and Ryan for badminton.

It was about 10 am in the morning.

Ryan came with the smaller version of the blue and pink Stitch.

Mom watched Ryan as he was playing with this Angel Stitch toys.

Suddenly, Mom thought she saw ... something ...

Mom called Ryan to come over.

Your mother straightened Ryan's t-shirt.

There was a word on his shirt that caught your mother's eyes.

FREE ...

FREE???

Omg.

Seriously.

What are the chances of having 2 ANGELS

not one but two, that HAS to be some solid confirmation,

on your mother's carpet at home,

and the word FREE at the same time?

You in Lourdes, with your PS4.

ZIPPY ZIPPY ZAP ZAP!

Thanks Son.

It's just totally incredibly AWESOME how GOD allows

you to connect with your mother.

Thank you JESUS and MAMA MARY.

Thank you JESUS for YOUR resurrection,

because JESUS died for us,

DEATH cannot conquer or separate us.

We live forever.

From one dimension to the next.

Isn't it amazing that mothers get to call their children in heaven?

OMG.

Who would have thought of this possibility?

Keep the zaps coming, Daniel.

xoxo

Mom
