Wed, February 7
This year, the family celebrated
Chinese New Year in Genting Highlands.
We were in the midst of settling our
hotel rooms.
From Feb 8 to 11.
So Aunty D got a room for her family.
Dad, Mom and Justine in a second room.
Grandma and Aunty C were supposed
to share our room ... but were undecided.
The hotel rooms were fully booked -
apparently.
Anyways, Aunty D managed to get
available rooms for the 3 days in Resort
Hotel each time she checked - throughout
the day. None of our handphones were
able to do that - we would get the
"Fully booked" comment.
So our last text chat on the 3rd hotel room:

Mom replied : "What's your hp number?
Let's go buy magnum ..."
Aunty D : 017 381 7838
Mom said : "7838. Looks like 1st prize."
Aunty C commented : I'm liking the number.
I like the 3s and 8s.
Aunty D said : Must be 1st prize.
Fast Forward to Sonday, Feb 11
(2nd day of CNY)
Mom will fill up the days in between later ya.
For now, let's skip over to the last day of our trip.
Dad, Mom and Justine were in the car.
We were traveling back to KL.
It was about 6 pm thereabouts.
The drive was slow, with many vehicles
on the road.
Suddenly, Mom spotted a car with the
number plate :
1813
Mom pointed and said out loud,
"Look. 1813 ... our car number."
Our old car.
Honda Accord 1813.
The car you we used to have during
your stay back here.
1813
Moments later, Mom found herself
searching for Magnum Draw Results
and found this staring back at her :

Are you kidding her?
Her eyes shot to 7878.
Gosh. So close.
We were talking about 7838.
The lucky number. The number that could
always seemed to get the "available rooms."
7878. Mum mused.
That's Aunty D's birth year - 78.
Then, Mom noticed the 3rd prize :
1318
OMG. What!
Our car number.
1813.
So close.
Mom said, "Horse year this year. 7878 is Aunty
D's number - she's a horse ... and 1813, Mom's ...
your mother was born in the year of the horse too.
Didn't Aunty C said she liked the 3s and 8s?
I like 3s and 8s, Aunty C had said.
Oh boy - 1318.
What are the chances of 2nd and 3rd prize
turning out to be so connected to us?
Mom kept repeating that line to Dad and
Justine in the car.
Then, Mom took a look at the 1st prize :
1953 ... and said, "Wonder what 1953 is ...
who was born in 1953?" (It looked like
a birth year to Mom, that 1953)
Seconds later, Mom sat right up and asked
Dad, "When was KL born? Which year?"
KL being Dad's older brother.
Dad said : 1954
OMG.
So so close.
Hmm. Interesting to note ...
KL is also a horse.
What d'ya say?
All 3 lucky numbers picked on the 2nd day
of Chinese New Year, are connected to us -
Horses.
Do you see it?
Mom was sending excited texts back and forth
to Aunty D.
This Dragon year will be the year that Horses
are so gonna be shining in.
We are gonna be so lucky this year ...
in all that we do.
May the luck spread to all our loved ones.
Abundance in health, happiness and prosperity
in the year of the Dragon.
Especially for Horses.
Hah.
So there.
It is said.
And it shall be.
Wait for it.
Okay Son, gotta go get ready.
We are going to the mall today.
Justine needs to get some stuff for
Kayden's mother when she comes
in a week and a half.
Be with us ya, Son.
Message received.
