Hello Son,
It's Sunday (July 31).
Time : 3:37 pm.
Dad is taking a nap in the living room.
Alexa is playing jazz soft music in the background.
Mom is in front of the computer, making a call to you.
Dad and Mom rode to the Fishing Village this morning,
after Sunday mass.
This would be the second time we are riding the bike
to the fishing village.
Sigh, hope it's not going to become a habit.
Dad said it would take about 35 minutes, according to waze.
Yet, it felt like an hour.
Correction -- it was an hour.
10 minutes into the ride, Dad had to stop by a petrol station
to tell mom to pull down the vizor on her helmet.
Pause.
Oops.
Mom did not notice because this time, she was wearing
her sunglasses.
When we reached the fishing village, Mom was about to remove her helmet.
Only then did she realize that she did not even fasten her helmet.
The safety strap was hung loosely from the helmet.
OMG.
Mom said, "I forgot to buckle up ..."
Dad was like ...
Yup, totally.
No words for it.
See how careless we can be sometimes.
Thank God we arrived safely.
Can you imagine if there were police stops along the road?
OMG ...
It really does pay to just recite the rosary when you are a
passenger on a bike.
Besides, there's pretty much nothing else you could do anyway.
Hmmm.
Mom's just a tad worried, about the bike ride, you know ...
since we had that -- bump (car) --- about a week back.
Anyway, we arrived at about 11:30am.
It was still early for the lunch crowd. Yet a few tables
were taken up already. Dad and Mom walked to our
usual / favourite table.
Dad ordered these dishes for brunch :
braised tofu and mushrooms |
fried talapia in nyonya sauce |
potato leaves in sambal belacan |
condiments : garlic and cili padi |
fried glass noodles |
Mom thinks she looks better in her side angle. |
Dad always looks nice in whatever angle. |
Dad said to strike a pose. |
Time to go home. |
We enjoyed the meal very much.
The weather was breezy.
We went back around 12:40 pm.
So, Mom mentioned just now that we had a small car bump last week.
It was on Monday, July 25.
Justine arrived in the morning.
She would be in KL for a few days, attending a seminar.
Her seminar was on Wed and Thursday.
So on Monday she was free to be with your parents.
We were going to take her to Komune (that senior citizen resort place)
to have the yummy hor fun (noodles).
On the way there, a car bumped into us from the back on the right side.
There was a loud thud.
Other than that, we were all okay.
Dad got down to inspect the damage.
The driver of the other car did the same.
Conversation was going back and forth,
between Dad and the guy.
Justine and Mom were in the car.
So anyway, when Dad came back to the car,
he said that both of them have agreed to claim under
insurance.
Mom asked, "What's the guy's car number?"
Dad said, "5005."
Mom said, "Zero zero?"
Dad said yeah.
Hmmm.
Interesting.
Mom has been using the 2 eyes emoji in her texts,
and that was the first thing that came to her mind
when she thought of "zero - zero."
Two eyes ...
A pair of eyes ...
The two "5" ...
One on each end ...
Do they not look like the rounded curve or the
hook of a pair of spectacles? The curve where
you would put the back of the glasses behind the ears.
Do you see that?
WD 5005 A
Daniel was clearly Watching over us.
All of us.
Hahaha.
Mom smiled ... a secret smile to herself.
but of course her son would be watching over them all.
Thanks Daniel, for keeping us safe.
Dad said, "I have been wanting to re-spray the EXORA.
So now we can do that."
Ya ya ... with insurance too. That's good.
Mom pointed out, "Now we know why the BM is taking
such a long time at the workshop."
Dad had sent our BM for service a week ago, and it was still
in the workshop. Had we collected the car, we would have
been using the BM. It would not be nice to think of any kind
of bump, small or otherwise, on the BM.
The unsightly bump. |
Our car number : 1883
Decode :

4 44 44
If that's not watching over everyone, what is?
Pause for just a sec.
Oh boy, do you see the double zero?
Ohh ... and Angel ...
A is also for Angel ...
Daniel and Angels are watching over us.
Seriously, what are the chances of Mom finding this image
of the two zeroes and angel together???
No chance.
Angel chance, that's for sure.
Mom asked, "What time did the bump happen?"
Take note that your mother does not use the word accident
or crash to describe the incident.
Only a bump.
You don't magnify a problem.
Never magnify a problem.
Bump is mild.
Justine said, "1:20 pm"
Say what?
Mom repeated, "One twenty?"
Your sister said, "Yaa."
1:20 pm
That's like a clear and loud 21.
YOU.
Thanks Son, once again, for always watching over us.
Justine took some photos of Dad and Mom at the Komune garden
after lunch.
Yummy lunch! Super delicious. We could eat this every day. |
The arch is like a
R A I N B O W
Which brings Mom to this song :
IF I DIE YOUNG
Lord, make me a rainbow,
I'll shine down on my mother,
She'll know I'm safe with You,
When she stands under my colours.
Here is Justine at her seminar on Wednesday.
Justine left on Friday.
Dad and Mom went to have durians in PJ.
durian cendol |
musang king |
awesome |
seed is this tiny only. |
Okay Son, gotta go now.
Need to get some groceries for tomorrow.
Tomorrow is a school day.
Talk to you in a bit.
Send your ZAPS over and watch over Justine ya.
xoxo
