Call 124 : CATERPILLAR MESSAGE

Hello Son,

Today is Thursday. It's a public holiday over here. Thaipusam.

We left the house at 8:15am in the morning to go to your garden.

Being a holiday, Aunty Carol was not working, so she followed us. Grandma and Aunty Hayley came along too. Justine said that some of your friends will meet us there at the garden later in the morning.

We arrived at the site about 8:30am.

Your garden looked neat and still quite clean, the everlasting flowers were all still in tact, except for a few stalks of roses that were bend over probably due rain or wind.

Just as your mother was about to brush aside the fallen leaves from the site, she spotted a caterpillar crawling on the headstone of the tomb that faced the flower bed of your garden.

See where Aunty Carol and Justine are sitting - Now see the tomb behind them -
That's where the caterpillar was (on the middle stone slab) - the space between Aunty C and Jus.

It was a familiar orange-black stripe caterpillar

Like the one which visited your garden before - 2 months ago. You remember the caterpillar that made an entrance on us while we were at your garden on your 10th month in November 2010?

It couldn't be the same one, could it?

Dad said, of course not. It's probably the same species though.

Anyway, Mom ignored the caterpillar and continue tidying up the site. It wasn't like the caterpillar was within the boundaries of YOUR garden ... it was on somebody else's tomb. If You had sent that caterpillar, it should be at YOUR site, right???

Right ... Your mother heard herself answering.

So anyway, picture the scenario ...

Grandma was tidying the flowers at Grandpa's garden bed. Aunty Carol and Justine were planting yellow roses on yours. Aunty Hayley was decorating the side of the site with purple flowers (from previous months). Mom was clearing the autumn leaves. Dad at that time was burning mosquito coils and positioning them on all the 4 corners of the site.

Shortly after, Dad exclaimed,

"Hey, there's another caterpillar here."

Mom turned to look at Dad. He was bending over, and snapping a photo of the creepy crawlie that was now on your garden slab (near the pink flowers).

At the point of writing this entry, Mom checked the time of the photo taken - 8:50am.

So soon after we arrived ...

Hmmm ...

A minute ago, the caterpillar was on the other person's headstone. Mom checked the cold stone. It had disappeared and was no longer on the slab of the other tomb or anywhere near. We surely did not notice any furry thingy crawling across your site to the pink flowers.

Dad said, "It must be another caterpillar ..."

Dad spotted a caterpillar on the slab near the first (top corner) bunch of flowers.

As Dad was taking the photo, the caterpillar apparently entertained Dad with a lil performance.

Watch this ...

Here's our furry friend crawling along the ledge by the
pink flowers heading north.

It stops by the first ( top corner) bunch of flowers.
Woah, the caterpillar is trying to stand up!

Oh My, the caterpillar is now standing in an upright position.
The tail then ledges on to a nearby leaf.

It pushes itself up from the ground, reaches and clutches
the petal of the flower in the above
before heaving itself up on to the rose bud.

Dad was totally amazed ... witnessing first-hand how the lil caterpillar climbed from the stone slab to the flower without any kind of solid foundation for support.

The rest of us did not quite pay much attention to the caterpillar. We were busy with our chores. :D It was only after viewing the photos at home at night that Mom felt the familiar ZZZAPPPP that told her, You must have sent the caterpillar to Dad ...

How often does one get to witness the wonders of nature in this way? Even people who are experts in nature discovery would have to set their zoom-cameras or videos ready and way in advance in the hope of catching something worthwhile.

Dad was at the right place, at the right time, at the right moment.

Maybe an angel whispered to him to be at the right place, at the right time, at the right moment. Imagine Dad happened to be holding the camera at the time. That lil caterpillar act happened quickly and was over in a span of just a few seconds ...

Yet, Dad captured and witnessed it all.

Dad was totally overwhelmed at the garden. The way he expressed how the lil caterpillar p-u-s-h-e-d itself up from ground zero to c-l-i-m-b UP THE AIR to the rose bud, an almost impossible situation, reminds Mom of the song CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN, where Mother Abbess sang to Maria in The Sound of Music.

Here's a newer version of the song by Nikki from Holland :

Holland Idol Contestant Nikki

Climb every mountain,
Search high and low,
Follow every by-way,
Every path you know.

Climb every mountain,
Ford every stream,
Follow every rainbow,
'Till you find your dream.

A dream that will need,
All the love you can give,
Every day of your life
For as long as you live.

Climb every mountain,
Ford every stream,
Follow every rainbow,
Till you find your dream

The caterpillar that visited today, crawling on the edge along the pink flowers.

What an inspirational song-message ...

Climb every mountain.

Despite any solid foundation - it would appear we might sometimes have to ledge on to a nearby "leaf" before reaching the required destination and grabbing the goal in our hands. :D

Chuckle ...

How's that for interpretation? :D

Dad, You can do it Dad ...

Mom hears You saying. :D

Did You?

Call 123 : CUTE DRESS

Hello Son,                                           (continue from Call 122) (Tuesday, January 18)

We picked up the camera from Uncle Ken and were soon on our way to Queensbay Mall. We were going to chill out at J.Co (coffee & donuts) for a bit before our next appointment in Juru at 3pm.

Mom told Justine that we could try to look for her dress at the mall. Her dress for Aunty Diana's wedding. She's been out shopping with both your Aunty Diana and Aunty Carol, the past few weeks, but have not come across a dress that she really likes.

Little did we know that You were gonna help your sister find the dress that she would be wearing on Aunty Diana's wedding.

So anyway, the mall is really huge.

Dad has been to this mall several times, but today was the first time, he's driving to the mall using a different route, as he had to stop by at the University just now. Today, he had to follow the Gold Coast Resort way.

And in so doing, ended up taking a different entrance in to the mall. The one that is on the opposite end to the one he normally used.

Funnily, despite following the sign that said CAR PARK which led us down to the basement upon entering, we somehow found we had to drive UP to the roof top. Dad was quite amused about that and was commenting that this would be the first time, he entered a basement car park but ended up on the roof top.

Coming out of the car and entering the mall, we found ourselves at the top floor of the mall. Dad said, he has never come to this side of the mall before. He's normally on the opposite side.

We walked to the nearest escalator, which was in front of us, about 30 steps away. As we approached it, we noticed that the escalator was under maintenance. Mom leaned over the railing to see what was beneath / below and spotted a mannequin in a cute dress. She called Justine and pointed the dress out. Your sister was eager to go down to check out the boutique.

Believe it or not, but looking up from below, the repair workers had removed the "DANGER - UNDER MAINTENANCE" sign at the escalator and we found it working smoothly.

We went down.

At the bottom of the escalator, we spotted another mannequin in a cute outfit in Boutique X in front of us. The first shop was about 5 shops away. We decided to try out all the shops, starting with the first shop and the in - betweens, and finally Boutique X.

We selected 2 outfits. Jus went to the changing room. Mom found a seat and flopped herself down. As she sat and waited, she couldn't help but notice a fire extinguisher right before her eyes.

Zzzza--PPP!!!

She blinked. Her angel - signs. (See Call 43)

Oh Wow ...

Say what You like but Mom felt your presence instantly.

The dress must be here. This is the shop.

True enough, Justine came out in the first outfit, and said,

"I like it." :D

The rest is history.

Dad said once again, "I've never come to this side of the mall before. You see? I have to leave the camera in the car, so we have to take a different route to the mall, and use this other entrance..."

Yes Son ... It's all very mysterious ... :D

BONES mysterious ...

Grin.

All the same, we were very happy that Jus has found her dress.

After that, we chilled out at J. Co. See how happy Dad is with his coffee? :D Justine had yogurt ice-cream and Aunty H and Mom had iced milk tea. :D

We left the mall at about 2:30pm.

Met up with Uncle N at 3pm at a noodle shop in Juru.

Yeah, eat again.

You must have been shaking your head ...

Mom remembers how You said,

"Dad's -- eating -- again"

before chuckling to yourself, at the hospital, a few days after You came out of your 3 day coma. This was about a week before You left us. Just hearing You speak those few words and seeing You chuckle was magical. Especially when your doctor had said that You were not likely to come out of your coma.

God was in control ...

Pause ...

Taking a moment to inhale deeply ...

Anyway, we left for Ipoh in an hour or so.

By the way, note the chilli sauce squirted in the shape of a number 7 on our carrot cake dish.

There were 4 side dishes with the number 7 chilli sauce on our table. Be patient, yah, and see how the number 7 turns up again in a short while later.

We arrived in Ipoh at about 6pm.

At the Viva center, Justine went to the water dispenser. Taking out a cone, she reminded Mom that You used to put your fist into the cone (You were in primary school then) like the Pokemon character, Beedrill.

Remember???

And behave like one too ... with all the pointing and poking in the air ... :D

We met up with some friends. Proceeded to dinner.

Talk talk talk some more.

It was about 9 pm before we called it a day.

Believe it or not when the bill came, the amount showed RM77.xx

Honestly, it was just so weird to see all the number 7s that afternoon, and then see the RM77.xx appearing on the bill.

A coinciDANS, no doubt. :D

We drove back to KL ...

Justine was sitting in front with Dad. For some reason, she was totally awake and hyper (her own words), and she was singing and keeping Dad company. Don't ask what Aunty H and Mom were doing behind.

Yawn.

Zzzzzzz ...

Fast Forward ...

Mom awoke to hear the song TEARS IN HEAVEN on the radio.

 By Eric Clapton

Tears In Heaven???

Again??? (See Call 121)

"Where are we now?" Mom asked. It was past 11:15pm.

Aunty H said, "Bangsar."

We have reached KL.

Mom smiled to herself before commenting that,

"He's ending the day with a song." That is so your style.

Tears In Heaven had come on when we started the journey on Monday, and it had come on again, as we were about to end our journey on Tuesday.

Tears In Heaven ...

A song that made us think of You immediately.

Mom knows it's your way of telling us that You were with us throughout the journey. :D As your mother allowed herself to be overwhelmed by the moment, the next song that came on was:

Zzzzza--PPP!!!

You had played this tune for your mother during the year that her kindergarten class was doing the Aladdin dance during their concert in 2008. You were supposed to attend the concert but You didn't in the end. Can't remember why now - You had something on with your friends. So, You made the effort to learn the song and played it on the guitar for your mother. :D

A whole new world. Mom remembers how You'd pluck the strings to the tune ...

You were certainly with us throughout the journey, Son ...

Everywhere we are, there you'll always be ... <3<3<3

Thinking about You, Son, as your first year anniversary approaches...

Call 122 : CAMERA MISSING

Hello Son,                                                  (continue from Call 121)

This Tuesday morning, Uncle Ken (Dad's brother) had dropped by the hotel to take us out for breakfast.

It was about 9:30am.

We were in the lift going down to the lobby from the 18th floor. Of course, the lift had to stop at the 14th floor for a guest to get in.

But of course ...

The elevator could have stopped at any of the seventeen floors on the way down - but it had to be floor number 14

The angel - sign (see call 43).

Just seeing the number 14 lit up in red, in the lift, made your mother smile. A secret smile to herself. :D

Uncle Ken came in a purple car.

Not his, he had clarified quickly, it was the university's.

A privilege for the university's professor, obviously.

He drove us to Super Tanker, a food court near the local market. We had a really nice breakfast of all kinds of hawker food including curry mee, fried kuey teow, nasi lemak and keuy teow thng.

We left the food court in an hour or so.

Uncle Ken dropped us at the hotel and drove off.

We walked to the lift. Someone had pressed the button for the lift. Mom saw the number indicating the elevator was going down, down, down ...

Would You believe it???

It stopped at floor number 14 again ... before coming right down to the lobby.

A coinciDANS, of course.

A knowing smile appeared on your mother's face. She could feel her son's presence. :D

We went up to the room. to pack up. We had to check out before noon.

And so we did.

12:15pm ... we were in the car.

Aunty H had to change her shoes. She was at the boot with Dad. Mom suddenly found herself looking for the camera. She couldn't find it in her handbag. She remembered that the last one who had the camera was Dad.

Mom asked Dad about it.

Dad looked somewhat stunned. Then, he started looking here and there and everywhere. The camera couldn't be found. It wasn't in the car, not in the boot, not in the suitcase, not in the computer backpack, not in his pockets.

Where could it be???

Dad was getting flustered as he re-searched the boot and the bags.

Mom called out to You loudly,

"Daniel, help us find the camera."

In a split of a second later, Dad (at the boot) exclaimed,

"It's in Kia Kien's car!" (Uncle Ken)

Mom heard that. Justine heard that. Aunty H was at the boot with Dad, she must have heard that.

Your mother couldn't help smiling to herself. :D:D:D

The BOND.

It was unexplainable.

The ZAP ...

You can't describe it but when it happens, You just know.

Yes, You just know.

It'd happened.

You must have whispered to Dad ... :D

Mom heard Dad make a call to Uncle Ken. He came back to the car and said that Uncle Ken had returned the car (remember, the car is not his - it belongs to the University) and that he had to go check and see if the camera was still there.

Mom knew the camera would still be there.

She just knew.

Dad was still looking worried so to get his mind off while waiting for Uncle Ken to call back, Mom asked Dad to check the hotel room again.

Dad went back in the hotel.

He came out some 20 minutes later.

Hands empty. Frown still in place.

Shook his head as he was walking to the car, and said, as he got in, "Not there."

Of course it's not there. It's with Uncle Ken. Didn't You tell Dad that? What's taking Uncle Ken so long??? Shouldn't he be calling already?

Finally, the mobile rang. Dad answered.

It was Uncle Ken.

Yes, the camera was with him.

"We'll swing by your department and pick it up," Dad said over the phone. Tension left your father which was replaced by a quick sigh of relief.

Mom had to smile to herself.

She knew it!

She - just - knew - it!

Thanks Son. :D

Josh Groban and Lee Mead

We drove to the University.

On the way, the song YOU RAISE ME UP came on the radio.

The time was 12:26pm. No prizes for guessing whose face popped into our minds when we heard the song.

HE raised You up, Son ... GOD truly did.

What an appropriate song to remind us that your First Year anniversary is coming up ...

In 3 days' time.

Call 121 : ANGEL CARS

Hello Son,

We went to Penang on Monday today.

Left the house at 10:30am in the morning. We drove to Bangsar to pick up Aunty Hayley. Soon, we were on the north-south highway. The radio was on only for a little while because the reception was not good and Dad had put on a CD when the audio became scratchy.

Before that, at 11:24am, TEARS IN HEAVEN by Eric Clapton filled the car. Mom jotted the song down in her note book.

Hearing the song made us all think of You ... even more.

The anniversary celebrating your first year in Heaven is just around the corner...

January 21st ...

How a whole year just flew by ...

This would be like the longest time ever that You have been away from us. One whole year. Thankfully, God is faithful and God is good because somehow, He has allowed our Mother-Son connection to continue despite the impossible distance.

Pause.

Did she say immm--possible???

Has your mother forgotten the countless times that she had said and assured You that NOTHING is impossible with GOD??? :D

You don't have to say it, Son ...

Your mother's right, she knows ... :D

Nothing is impossible with GOD! :D

We turned into Ipoh at about 1:20pm for a short lunch break.

Dad drive to one of the coffee-shops and there, we had the most delicious Ipoh Hor Fun (rice noodle soup) with steamed chicken and bean sprouts - ever.

Dad said, he went inside the coffee shop and found one large table waiting for us right in the middle of the eatery. The rest of the tables were packed with patrons. :D We were not surprised - no, not at all. :D Thanks for that, Son ... :D

Remember these famous Ipoh dishes ...
Having said that, nothing can beat Mama Mary's cooking,
that's for sure ... Have You put on weight? :D

Left Ipoh at 2pm and continued our journey up north.

We arrived at Penang Road about 4:30pm.

Dad dropped us around the vicinity before he drove off to park the car. We walked into the mall, to use the washroom. Just as we were about to approach Guardian Pharmacy, Aunty Hayley suddenly mentioned something about her "toothpaste."

That immediately reminded Mom that she had to buy a toothbrush. She did not bring hers.

Forgot.

That was kinda strange how Aunty H suddenly, out of the blues, talked about her toothpaste. You must have whispered to Aunty H to mention the toothpaste. :D You knew your mother had intended to buy a toothbrush before going to the hotel.

You were with us that day, Mom could feel it.

Anyway ...

After dropping by the pharmacy and the washroom, we went straight to have our cendol and rojak.

While we were enjoying our cendol ...

Justine pointed out to an aquarium in the corner. She said it reminded her of a time when You had a moment with an aquarium in somebody's house - she couldn't remember who.

She related that, there was a magnetic cleaner that was stuck against the wall of the aquarium, one on the inside and the other on the outside. You were apparently quite fascinated with them and was moving the outer magnet about. Then at one point, You somehow pulled it out ...

The both of You must have watched in horror as the magnet on the inside of the fish tank began to sink to the bottom.

Dad remembers that inciDAN. We laughed and interrogated your sister further. She remembers vividly, the uh-oh expression You gave, as if it happened yesterday. :D

Shortly after, Justine exclaimed, "Hey, look at the numbers."

We all turned to look to where she was pointing. From where your sister was sitting, she was able to see a telephone number that was advertised on the wall of a shop, opposite the cafe we were at.

Oh my goodness ...

Would You take a look at all the angel signs. (See Call 43)

Zzzza--PPP!!!

A coinciDANS no doubt, but that didn't stop us from instantly feeling your presence. :D

We left the cafe at about 5:30pm. Driving to the hotel, Justine exclaimed again, "Hey, see the car number!"

Zzzza--PPP!!!

Our angel sign again.

Mom was clamouring for the camera to pass to Justine for her to take a shot. Jus was sitting in front. Mom needn't have hurried, because it turned out that the car drove in front of us for quite a while. Were You escorting us, Daniel?   >.<

Another coinciDANS, no doubt. :D

After awhile, Dad took a different turn and we left the 444 car. Believe it or not, but within a minute or two, another O-M-G angel - sign car slid in front of ours.

Zzzza--PPP!!!

Once again, Mom was like, quick quick, take picture. :D

Jus took a picture.

Would You believe it but this 2nd angel - sign car actually drove us right to the hotel, before driving away?

Awww ... You were escorting us, weren't You, Son? :D

We checked into our room, took turns to shower and freshened up. We were going out to a Viva gathering at 7:30pm.

At 6:45pm, Dad said it was time to get going.

We all hopped into the car. Just as we were driving out from the hotel to the main road, would You believe it but another O-M-G angel - sign car drove past us. As the road was clear, Dad drove out and soon we found ourselves following the angel - sign car.

My oh my ...

What are the chances of having 4 angel-sign inciDANS occurring in a short period of 2 hours? All the 3 cars happened to be driving right in front of our car. It was unbelievable. It would appear like You were really escorting us ... :D

The 3rd angel - sign car escorted us, all the way until we took the lane to turn into the Viva office.

That was some escort service You arranged there, Son ...

We all had a big smile on our faces at that moment ...

Fast Forward ...

We left the center shortly after 10pm. With all the angel signs that day, Mom kinda had a feeling that You were going to end the day with some kind of message.

A mother's intuition.

It was a feeling.

The radio was on 98.1.

Just as we were driving away, the song 1234, I LOVE YOU came on the radio. Your mother found herself holding her breath. That was so your style.

Get the attention first, then give the message.

 By Plain White T's

Mom was reminded instantly, on her birthday in June last year. Justine and her were driving back home, after a whole day of inciDANS, there was a jam on the highway, and a car with the number plate DAN was right in front of us.

Justine had squealed when she spotted the car.

The whole day that day, You had made your presence felt.

Very strongly too.

Seeing the DAN car, cause our thoughts to be centered on You, and when it was, the same song,

1234, I LOVE YOU had come on the radio.

It was so incredible.

Your mother still remembers the ZAP moment. :D

How You do this, Daniel, zzzza--pping us over and over and over, just amazes us.

Simply and purely ...

There's only 1 way, 2 say, those 3 words,

4 You-uu ...

I LOVE YOU ... <3

Aww Son ...

We love You too ... so very very much!

Call 114 : WEDDING STILETTOES

Hello Son,                                                         (Wednesday, January 12)

Mom left the house at 8am in the morning with Aunty Hayley.

Today is Aunty H's 3rd day of her procedural check up.

In the car, Mom related about her wedding shoes incident last night.

On Tuesday night, the night before. Dad had taken down her wedding shoe-box from the top shelf at the store room. Mom wanted to check to see if she could use them for Aunty's Diana's wedding.

Those wedding stilettoes are crazy high - and she has not seen another pair quite like this. Nor has she taken them out for the last 19 years! Why she suddenly felt she has to wear such ridiculously high heels now, she has no idea ...

It's definitely not because her balance on high heels has improved, over the years ...

Far from that ...

Dad brought the shoe-box down.

Opening the box, Dad lifted the stiletto up by hooking the front-strap with a finger. You won't believe this, Son, but the shoe started to disintegrate - Yes, DISINTEGRATE - into fine sand.

Honestly, the platform part and heels,

everything that was below the soul of the shoe

instantly crumbled before our eyes.

We have NEVER seen shoes disintegrate in that way before. Not in our entire lives. Mom has kept her wedding shoes for sentimental reasons (19 years!), but since they crumbled and fell apart, Dad said to throw them away.

She had to say goodbye to her wedding heels ... no choice. She couldn't be expected to be keeping shoe-sand in her shoe box now, right?

Putting the shoes away, Dad commented somewhat humorously, "from ash to ash."

From ash to ash.

Ha.

Ha.

Ha.

Ve -- ry  fun -- ny.

Note the sarcasm. :S

Aunty H chuckled and repeated, "From ash to ash. Hahaha."

We arrived at the parking area about 8:45am. Took the free shuttle to the medical building. At the ground floor of the building, while waiting for the lift, Aunty H commented about the notice boards.

A doctor happened to come by, overheard her expressing constructive comments about the signs on the wall, and asked,

"Yes, any comments about the notice boards?"

We were startled as he had snucked up from behind us quietly. We didn't hear him approach. Aunty H brushed it aside and said no, she was just making a remark about bla bla bla (can't remember what now). The three of us stepped into the lift as it opened.

The doctor was awfully nice, and said he welcomed all suggestions and feedback, and that he would bring up whatever comments that we make to him to the board meeting.

Ooooh ... that was quite unexpected.

Getting off at our floor, Mom said, "Hmmm, that must be Daniel whispering to the doctor : That's my aunty, take down all her comments ..." :D

Grin.

At the clinic, Aunty H presented her appointment card.

The nurse asked her to take a seat first and will call her later. Mom walked over to the magazine stand. She wanted to look for that magazine to read that article again - the one she stumbled upon the day before - A Simple Equation ... followed by that jaw-dropping message.

See Call 113

Hopefully, it was still there.

It was.

Great.

She's gonna take her time and slowly read the article - again. :D

And she did ... It made her day - again. :D

After that, she flipped through the other pages, and happened to come across a photo of Kareena.

Eh, Kareena Kapoor???

What a coinciDANS ...

Didn't she mention that name on Monday, 3 days ago, in Call 109 (Nobody Nobody)? Mom had said in Call 109, when Aunty Diana tried out her Bollywood bridal gown,

"My oh my, Kareena Kapoor, step aside please ..."

Pause.

Okay ... Okay ...

So maybe, that really was just a coinciDANS.

A real coinciDANS.

Still ... Mom couldn't help but noticed that there was only one Bollywood actress on that page, and it had to be the one that your mother had mentioned.

Not Aishwarya or Kajol or Priyanka or Rani or Preity.

But Kareena.

The one that your mother mentioned.

Hah. So there. :D

Amusement was written all over Aunty H's face.

Mom flipped over the page.

Flip flip flip ... when she stopped at a page that featured a man.

Jimmy Choo.

Zzzzza--PPP!!!

Jimmy Choo??? The shoe guy???

Oh boy ...

Last night, your mother's shoes disintegrated, this morning she told Aunty H about it, and an hour later she reads an article about SHOES???

Hehehehehe.

That's funny.

What a coinciDANS! :D

Honestly! Mom began to read the article ...

Turning to Aunty H shortly, your mother exclaimed in disbelief,

"What are the chances, Aunty, of coming across this page about Jimmy Choo saying he wants to teach the younger generation how to make better shoes, after telling You this morning that my heels disintegrated last night?"

She looked at the title again - SOUL MAN ...

Yup, everything from the SOUL of her heels and below had crumbled into sand.

Strange, very strange ...

You must have whispered to your mother last night to get Dad to take down her wedding shoes, just so You could zap her this morning.

Right Son? :D

Cute ... very cute.

We felt your presence with us at the clinic, Son ... :D

Truly ...

The BOND.

Fast forward ...

Aunty H was done with her check up, and we were walking out of the building. Immediately, a cab appeared.

Mom and Aunty H exchanged a knowing smile. Before hopping into the cab, Mom noticed the number plate, and felt an overwhelming warmness spreading in her heart.

Her angel sign. The double 4.

See Call 43 : Angel Sign.

You sent that cab to us, Mom was very certain of it.

Mom told Aunty H, "See the number plate? Daniel sent this cab to us." :D

Aunty H acknowledged with a wide grin.

However, the cab driver turned out to be an unfriendly and grumpy person. He started grumbling and continued grumbling the whole time we were in the cab.

He was like muttering under his breath: Where do You want to go? There ah, I'm not going there la, very jam there, I'm not going there...

Grumble Grumble Grumble ...

Mom asked him to just drive on - we'll get down wherever ...

!@#$%^

He drove on ...

Grumble Grumble Grumble ...

You must then be reading your mother's mind.

Mom was like,

Aiyoh Son, did You have to send this horrid guy to us? He's a horrible man. :S Not only that but Mom told Aunty H that You're the one who sent the cab. And You sent Mr Grumpy? What must Aunty be thinking ...

The cab driver dropped us off at the end of the junction. Aunty H paid him RM3 and we got off. You must have seen your mother's non-smiling face as she flashed a look of disgust to ...

... to the sky.

We walked away in the opposite direction of the cab to the parking area. We must have taken about 10 to 15 steps away when we heard a ...

PON PON PON ...

We turned around. It was the cab driver, waving to us. Mom thought we had left something in the cab, and so she hurried to the cab, with Aunty H behind her. She yanked the door open.

The cab driver asked, rather sheepishly, and in a  much nicer tone,

"Where - do - You - want - to - go?"

Aunty H said, "Kam Hor" and Mom said, "Sungai Wang," simultaneously. (shopping mall)

The cab driver was suddenly helpful, and replied in a surprisingly friendly manner,

"Oh, if You go this way (he pointed right), it's Sultan Ismail, you go that way (pointed left), it's Tun Razak."

He - suddenly - turned - nice.

Even Aunty H noticed that. Isn't that strange?

This man was grumbling the whole time we were in the cab, in that harsh Chinaman-tone of his. Then, after we got down, he honked us like he suddenly realized that he had been mean and rude to us ...

We had already walked a good 10 to 15 steps away from the cab. We were not near his cab at all. His calling us back was an after-thought ... after You whispered to him to be nice. :D

Zzzza -- PPP !!!

A smile appeared on your mother's face.

She knew right away.

It was nobody, nobody but chiu! :D

Thank You, Son ... :D

You were watching us the whole time, weren't You? You saw the man being rude and nasty, and You must have told him to be nice.

We went to get the car, recalling the inciDANS of the day, with that unexplained feeling of absolute satisfaction, before driving back to Taman Desa.

We didn't go to the mall in the end. Instead, when we were back in Taman Desa, we drove to the shops to have our breakfast. Turning into the lane where Mom suggested we could have our food, we noticed a whole stretch of vehicles parked along the right and left side of the road.

A never-ending long queue of cars from one end to the other on both sides of the road ...

Yet ...

Believe it or not, but there was ONE empty spot directly opposite the cafe, that appeared to be waiting for us. :D

We came out from the car and re-checked the stretch of vehicles before us. As far as our eyes could see, all along the road, on the left and right, were filled with vehicles. This was the only spot that was available.

Not only that, but the parking space was right opposite the cafe that Mom had suggested we go to.

How nice, Son ... :D

Thank You for that.

Definitely a coinciDANS. :D

Talk to You tomorrow, kay ... <3

Love You Son ... <3
